There's no better way to celebrate the start of summer than at the ultimate sundowner! 🍇 🍷- the inaugural Wines of the Wild South event was held on Sunday 1 December amongst the grounds of the Cottesloe Civic Centre. Guests enjoyed exclusive tastings of premium Rieslings and diverse varietals from both well-known and boutique wineries from the Great Southern. To enhance the tasting experience, an Albany Rock Oyster bar and gourmet grazing boxes were provided to all guests and were perfectly paired with the wines. The event successfully showcased the Great Southern Wine Region, while offering attendees the opportunity to explore the quality and diversity of exceptional wines and produce from the region. Earlier this month, ASW partnered with Business Events Perth to host a group of event planners on a whirlwind tour of the South West. Staying at Hilton Garden Inn Busselton, the group experienced firsthand the unique offerings and warm hospitality of the region. A highlight was the spectacular sunset and delicious dinner at Pullman Bunker Bay Resort Margaret River Region, where our very own Emma Brown encouraged conference organisers to dream deeper when planning their next business event in Australia’s South West. The following day, delegates engaged in a dynamic speed networking session with local businesses, showcasing the region’s diverse range of experiences available to groups. The day concluded with a delicious lunch at the iconic Shelter Brewing Co before delegates returned to Perth. A dedicated Business Events Planners Guide has been curated, featuring an extensive list of suppliers who are ready to bring business events to life, download the Guide here - https://lnkd.in/gJm627Jp #MeetInTheSouthWest #BusinessEvents #SouthWestWA #DreamDeeper #ASW

Vale Tim Greay The ASW Board and team would like to pay tribute to Board Director, Tim Greay, who passed away this month following a courageous battle with bowel cancer. Tim was an adored husband and a loving father to three gorgeous little boys. He was a devoted family man, always putting his loved ones first. His gentle nature, kind heart, and unwavering optimism inspired those around him. As successful entrepreneurs, Tim, and his wife Sara founded Bina Maya Yallingup Escape in 2018, building luxurious accommodation from the ground up, right in the heart of the Margaret River region. Their deep understanding of the tourism industry, coupled with their passion for Aboriginal art, led them to establish Yallingup Aboriginal Art, a gallery showcasing the talents of Indigenous artists, in October 2023. Our Board Chair, Lenore Lyons paid tribute to Tim - “Tim was a dynamic and visionary leader who brought a wealth of experience to the Australia’s South West Board. His expertise in lean process and system design, risk management, and governance played a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's risk management policies.” Tim’s legacy extends far beyond his professional accomplishments. His passion for life, his commitment to his community, and his love for his family will continue to inspire us all.
