Did you know creativity delivers lifesaving research breakthroughs? The ACRF Child Cancer Liquid Biopsy Program is tackling the challenge of ever-evolving cancers that require constant monitoring. Traditional biopsies can be painful and risky, especially for children with hard-to-reach tumours. Researcher's innovative solution? Liquid biopsies! This less invasive method diagnoses, monitors, and treats childhood cancers through blood tests that detect tumour DNA. That's why Australian Cancer Research Foundation awarded funding for state-of-the-art liquid biopsy technology needed to accelerate this creative project. This festive season, donate to support researchers who think outside the lines to tackle cancer. Donate by December 31 and 100% of your donation will go to cancer research. 🎁: https://bit.ly/3SFq4SZ #cancerresearch #acrf #donate Children's Cancer Institute

As summer temperatures rise, remember to apply sunscreen to protect your skin against skin cancers like melanoma. Early detection plays a vital role in improving survival rates for melanoma. Did you know someone with stage 1 melanoma has a 99% chance of surviving longer than 5 years? Sadly, that figure drops to just 20% for a stage 4 diagnosis. That's why ACRF is committed to funding innovation research projects focused on the early detection of melanoma, helping to tackle growing rates across Australia. In 2018, ACRF granted $9.9 million to the University of Queensland to establish the Australian Centre of Excellence in Melanoma Imaging and Diagnosis (ACEMID). This innovative programme utilises advanced 3D imaging technology for whole-body scans, creating patient avatars to aid in early detection of melanoma. With 15 sites established nationwide, including rural areas, ACEMID is set to revolutionise melanoma diagnosis and ultimately save lives. Together, we can reduce melanoma rates and promote skin health for all Australians. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3NwMyT2 #cancerresearch #backingbrilliant The University of Queensland
