  • To our amazing supporters! The team at Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) would like to wish you and your family a joyful and safe festive season. This year, we celebrated 40 fantastic years of ACRF. Looking back, we couldn't have achieved all this without YOU! Thank you for your generosity throughout the year. Your support has truly made an impact, helping us fund the best and boldest cancer research in Australia. Together, we are transforming outcomes for our friends, family and loved ones who are impacted by this devasting disease. Here's to the future as we continue to fund pioneering cancer research, accelerating progress, uncovering new discoveries, and achieving breakthroughs in research. Love from everyone at ACRF ❤️

  • As summer temperatures rise, remember to apply sunscreen to protect your skin against skin cancers like melanoma. Early detection plays a vital role in improving survival rates for melanoma. Did you know someone with stage 1 melanoma has a 99% chance of surviving longer than 5 years? Sadly, that figure drops to just 20% for a stage 4 diagnosis. That's why ACRF is committed to funding innovation research projects focused on the early detection of melanoma, helping to tackle growing rates across Australia. In 2018, ACRF granted $9.9 million to the University of Queensland to establish the Australian Centre of Excellence in Melanoma Imaging and Diagnosis (ACEMID). This innovative programme utilises advanced 3D imaging technology for whole-body scans, creating patient avatars to aid in early detection of melanoma. With 15 sites established nationwide, including rural areas, ACEMID is set to revolutionise melanoma diagnosis and ultimately save lives. Together, we can reduce melanoma rates and promote skin health for all Australians. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3NwMyT2 #cancerresearch #backingbrilliant The University of Queensland
