As the holiday season approaches, it's a time of reflection and togetherness for many of us. Whether you're celebrating with family and friends or cherishing personal traditions, this time of year brings both joy and challenges. For some, the season is filled with warmth and celebration, but for others, it can be a reminder of grief, stress, and isolation. Amidst the hustle and bustle, it's important to recognise the range of experiences that come with this time of year. Let's prioritise self-care and reach out to those who might need a little extra support. Whether it's through a conversation, a kind gesture, or simply checking in, small acts of kindness can truly make a difference. We believe this heartfelt video of a poem by Justin Geange captures these feelings beautifully: https://lnkd.in/gu9DqtbZ For additional resources, Lifeline has some great support options this season: https://lnkd.in/gr6jUpvG Take care of yourself and those around you.

Dear Valued Community, We regret to inform you that we're announcing the closure of one of our entities, Plan Navigators, effective 20th December 2024. This decision, made by the board, was not made lightly. However, Plan Navigators can no longer sustain the financial viability of providing a high-quality, person-centred Support Co-ordination or Plan Management services. The organisation has been managing, over the last few years, the increased costs to wages and insurance, travel, cost of being a Registered Provider of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and maintaining this registration. To add to this complexity, for the past 4 years or more, the National Disability Insurance Scheme has not increased the hourly rate or payments (price guide rate) for Support Coordination and Plan Management. This means the cost of delivering these services is now more than the amount we can charge. The organisation has been covering these extra costs and is unable to continue to do this. We're incredibly proud of the life-changing support Plan Navigators has provided people over the years. The entity has contributed significantly to the group's overall mission. We're grateful for the team's hard work, passion, and dedication to providing a service where the human experience is at the centre. The Plan Navigator team is currently working with people to find alternative, trusted providers of their choosing and our main priority remains to meet people's immediate needs. We are here to assist people and their supports throughout this process. The Australian Inclusion Group is steadfast in its commitment to supporting individuals and promoting social inclusion. We will continue to do so through our two remaining entities, Inclusion WA and Inclusion Solutions. Sincerely, Australian Inclusion Group

This year's NAIDOC theme is "Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud" It celebrates the unyielding spirit of First Nations communities and invites all to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced. The fire represents the enduring strength and vitality of Indigenous cultures, passed down through generations despite the challenges faced. It is a symbol of connection to the land, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As we honour this flame, we kindle the sparks of pride and unity, igniting a renewed commitment to acknowledging, preserving, and sharing the cultural heritage that enriches our nation. If you want to find an event, the official NAIDOC week website lists all the wonderful events taking place across Australia during the week. Check them out here: https://lnkd.in/dexeVKVM Let's continue to build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culture, history, and future. Together, we can break down barriers and foster a more inclusive society. #NAIDOC2024 #NAIDOCWeek #BlakLoudProud
