Australian Industry Group (Ai Group)'s IT team is gaining invaluable insights and best practices at Australian Information Security Association (AISA)'s annual Australian Cyber Conference in Melbourne this week. "We’re there to make sure our skills are current and based on practical industry experience to implement at Ai Group and to assist our members and other businesses who use our #CyberSafety consultation services and attend our workshops on this critical issue," said Ai Group Senior Cyber Consultant, Mark Schmidt, at the conference with colleagues Edward Roberts, Michael Byrne, Douglas Townsend and Saransh Sehgal. More than 400 keynote, session and workshop presenters are talking about #cybersecurity, #AI, #SocialMedia and #CareerTrends in concurrent sessions over three days at #AustralianCyberConference2024, the largest security conference in the southern hemisphere. Australian Industry Group (Ai Group)'s dedicated (and imaginative!) Workplace Advice Line (WAL) team have once again gone all out for their annual Dress as Your Favourite Modern Award Day. For those not in the know, modern awards set out minimum conditions of employment for a specific industry or job. They define things like minimum wages, overtime, employment standards, penalty rates and allowances — issues the WAL team are well versed in so they can help Ai Group members manage workplace-related matters. Adding to today's fun at Ai Group is a Guess the Award competition where staff around the country have been challenged to match costumes to awards. Australian Industry Group (Ai Group)'s Andrew Wydmanski, John M. and Monica Radford (Wilkie) were in #logan today for a workshop to help #employers navigate key elements of amendments to Australia’s #WorkplaceRelations (WR) laws. Supported by Ai Group Member Engagement Manager Darren Harrison, they shared practical information to manage and achieve compliance with new rules relating to matters including: ▪ changes to #CasualEmployment, ▪ the #RightToDisconnect, ▪ regulated #LabourHire arrangements orders, ▪ requests for #flexibleworking arrangements and ▪ employees v independent contractors. Special thanks to Holly Walton, of Logan Office of Economic Development, for supporting today's briefing. It follows a hugely successful WR tour hosted by Ai Group Head of Northern Australia Dean Deighton earlier this month in #NorthQueensland, where Andrew was joined by fellow #brisbane lawyer, Stewart Rinkevich.
