Helping Australians be the healthiest they can through life-giving biological products like blood, tissue, organs & milk
About us
Australian Red Cross Lifeblood is a division of the Australian Red Cross. We’re an organisation committed to providing life-giving essence to support the everyday well-being of all Australians. We’ll always be there for Australia. Not just by giving blood, but through our clinical excellence, commitment to education and our ongoing investment in research and development. We’re a team of experts who deliver safe, high quality products time and time again. We work tirelessly to develop innovative solutions; whether it be for blood, organ matching, tissue typing or donated breast milk. We’re here to support all Australians — from the youngest to the most vulnerable —when they need us. We’re united through the power of humanity to build a healthier nation. What we do is only possible through the generous donations of almost half a million unpaid voluntary donors. They’re incredible. They’re indispensable. Without them, we can’t deliver the essential services critical to the health of Australians.

The Aon #lifebloodau Team can confirm that donating with your colleagues not only gives you a reason to take a longer lunch, but also leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy knowing your contribution will make a significant difference in someone’s life.

When babies are born very early, they face some unique and serious health challenges. Donated breast milk can make a big difference and help babies through that critical time. On #WorldPrematurityDay, we’re thanking all of our generous breast milk donors for giving the lift of life to support thousands of premature bubs every year. #lifebloodau

Some of our donors said they donate blood to help others remain healthy, and for some it's a lot to do with party pies. What's your reason? https://lnkd.in/gPrY5t-p #lifebloodau

Every 5 minutes we need one new donor to join all our existing donors, so we need you to help us reach them by sharing this post, or tagging your mates below to encourage them to book in this fortnight to help us meet demand. https://lnkd.in/gjKWR2w5 #lifebloodau

Remember Amira? A year ago, she needed a rare blood type transfusion, and many stepped up to donate blood. #lifebloodau

Mary first understood the importance of blood and plasma when her twin boys Peter and Charlie needed it at birth; one with a congenital heart disease and the other with a severe bleeding disorder. Thanks to blood donors, they’ve grown into active, happy 11-year olds, who love the water and family holidays. Mary is now inspiring her colleagues at Defence Australia to donate during our Defence Blood Drive and help recipients like her boys. #lifebloodau

10 years ago Phyllis made her first donation when a mobile donor centre popped up at uni. 139 plasma donations, 11 whole blood donations and countless post-donation party pies later, she's saved up to 450 lives, all before turning 30. #lifebloodau https://lnkd.in/gCY4WaqH
