ARMI is dedicated to unlocking the regenerative capabilities of the human body.
About us
The Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute is a $153 million medical research centre that officially opened in April 2009. Located at the thriving Monash Biosciences Precinct on the Clayton campus of Monash University, the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute is a result of the shared vision, ideas and funding of the State Government of Victoria and Monash University. A team of internationally recognised researchers have been recruited to work in ARMI's state of the art research laboratories to provide new advances in regenerative medicine. The Institute's staff and students focus on unraveling the basic mechanisms of the regenerative process, aiming to eventually enable doctors to prevent, halt and reverse damage to vital organs due to disease, injury or genetic conditions. This work will form the basis of treatments for conditions such as neurodegenerative disorders, diabetes, arthritis, musculo-skeletal and cardiovascular diseases.

We are proud to share that three of our researchers have been awarded NHMRC grants in the recent funding round. Over $3.3 million of new Australian Government funding will support three of ARMI’s research projects into: - Novel mechanisms underlying craniofacial abnormalities, Prof Edwina McGlinn - Unlocking the hearts dormant potential to regenerate after injury, A/Prof Jan Kaslin - A new model to study how cerebral spinal fluid can help repair the brain and spinal cord, Dr Gonzalo del Monte Nieto Read more about each of these exciting projects here ➡️ : https://lnkd.in/gupnsudh

📰 NEW PUBLICATION 📰 Exciting developments are emerging from the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI), where researchers are reimagining how we approach tissue healing. The ARMI team led by EMBL Australia researcher Mikaël Martino are exploring the remarkable potential of regulatory T cells (Tregs) as a game-changing approach to regenerative medicine. In a new Nature Communications publication Dr Bhavana N., Mikaël Martino and colleagues have demonstrated how these specialised white blood cells can dramatically improve healing rates across different tissue types – from bone and muscle to skin and heart tissue. As Dr Nayer aptly puts it, we're pioneering an "immune-centric approach to regenerative medicine" that could open new doors for patient treatment. This is more than just research – it's a glimpse into the future of healing. 💡🩺 Read more on our website here➡️: https://lnkd.in/gj42sDVf Or check out the full paper in Nature Communications here ➡️ : https://lnkd.in/gf8CnVvQ #RegenerativeMedicine #MedicalBreakthrough #AustralianResearch #HealthInnovation
