‘I’m volunteering because I hope for the girls and women in Tonga to see that you can be anything.’ #IVD2024 🇦🇺🇹🇴   Meet Australian volunteer Felicity, who is in #Tonga supporting the National Rugby League Tonga (NRL Tonga) as a Sports Development and Administration Officer. 🏉 Felicity’s assignment helps to promote gender equality in sport by empowering women and girls to participate in rugby.  She supports the team to deliver the NRL Pacific Outreach programs to schools. The programs promote health and wellbeing, the inclusion of people with disabilities, and raise awareness about the prevention of violence against women and children. ‘I’m volunteering because I hope I’ll be able to contribute to a world that’s achieving equality, especially for the disadvantaged communities.’ #IVD2024 🇦🇺🇫🇯 Meet Australian volunteer Ayman Mahli who supported Building Innate Resilience Through Hearts (BIRTH Fiji) and Vivekananda Technical Centre (Ramakrishna Mission) as an IT Specialist in #Fiji. 💻🌱 Ayman’s assignment helped to strengthen capacity in IT and website development for improved visibility and accessibility toward community health support services and sustainable farming education. He also contributed to Tropik Pine Rugby Club’s social media presence in support of community sport.
