Today marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. In 2023/24, 348 people (13%) we supported sought help due to family violence. Everyone deserves to be safe, equal and respected. But right now in Australia, that isn’t the reality. More than 1 in 3 women have experienced men’s violence. Not all disrespect leads to violence against women – but all violence against women begins with disrespect. All of us have the power to change that by respecting women wherever we live, learn, work and play. Join the 16 Days of Activism and help build communities where women are safe and equal. It all starts with respect. To learn more about 16 Days of Activism visit: https://bit.ly/3XiwbNU #16Days #16DaysOfActivism

As we continue to recognise World Homeless Day, we’re proud to reflect on the impact we’ve made at Beyond Housing. Over the past year, we’ve supported more than 3,000 individuals across the Ovens Murray and Goulburn regions—people who were either facing homelessness or at risk of it. Homelessness affects people from all walks of life, and each story is unique. But the solution remains the same: Housing ends homelessness. The top causes include: 👉 Housing crises 👉 Family violence 👉 Housing affordability stress People experiencing homelessness often face multiple and complex needs, and we are seeing growing numbers of younger and older Australians without a safe, stable home. Demand for services continues to rise, and it’s clear: we need more social and affordable housing to help those most vulnerable in our communities. Let’s raise awareness today and work towards creating real, lasting change. Home. Not homeless. #WorldHomelessDay #BeyondHousing #HomeNotHomeless #AffordableHousing #HousingEndsHomelessness

This year, World Homeless Day coincides with World Mental Health Day on 10 October, highlighting the significant intersection between homelessness and mental health. Research shows that homelessness can both result from and contribute to mental health challenges, creating a cycle that demands comprehensive solutions. Addressing homelessness requires a holistic approach that includes mental health support, affordable housing, and community integration. By focusing on these areas, we can break the cycle and build a more inclusive society. Join us in raising awareness and advocating for solutions that create lasting change. Home. Not homeless. Together, we can make it happen. #WorldHomelessDay #BeyondHousing #HomeNotHomeless

The Premier Building & Construction team is making incredible progress on our Homes Victoria Education First Youth Foyer project in #Wodonga! No wonder it's five months ahead of schedule. Looking forward to welcoming 40 young people in February 2025.
Youth Foyer Update 🔔 This project is moving along quickly and we could not be more proud, such an incredible project to be apart of! Learn more below 👇 “The Wodonga Education First Youth Foyer will be developed in partnership between the Victorian Government, BeyondHousing, Wodonga TAFE and Junction Support Services. It is one of the new youth housing projects recently announced by the Victorian Minister for Housing The Hon. Colin Brooks MP as part of the Victorian Government’s $50 million commitment to housing for young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, under the $5.3 billion Big Housing Build program. The Education First Youth Foyer program works to break the cycle of homelessness by supporting young people, aged 16 to 24, to build a secure and sustainable livelihood by providing them supported housing alongside access to education, employment, training, and a suite of other supports and opportunities. Wodonga TAFE will provide the site for the Foyer to be built at its McKoy Street campus, with construction expected to be completed by February 2025. Wodonga TAFE CEO Phil Paterson said the initiative will be life changing for Wodonga’s young people” 📍 Wodonga TAFE #premierbuildingandconstruction #designandconstruct #commercialconstruction #alburywodonga #alburywodongasurrounds Wodonga Council Visit Albury Wodonga Junction Support Services
