Congratulations to our founder Helen Brown for the award from the Republic of Indonesia, recognising her efforts to build stronger trade, investment and genuine collaboration between Indonesia and Australia.
Thank you to the Indonesia Consulate General in Melbourne for the award to recognise support of Indonesia-Australia economic cooperation. I am humbled by the honour and congratulate my co-awardees and friends Yacinta Kurniasih Sri Dean . The time I lived and worked in Indonesia was a professional and personal blessing and my ongoing treasured friendships inspire me to continue the work to build stronger bilateral relationships.

As you know we are 'big' on cultural capability and the skill of adjusting your words and actions when going into an Asia market. But we are not the only ones who think this is an essential skill for executives. The Harvard Business Review writes about how a lack of cultural capability can be a big negative on developing the trust need to improve financial performance. Cultural competency can mean knowing why large floral displays are important for business moments in Indonesia. Check out the article https://buff.ly/2GG0doP And drop us a line if you would like to sharpen your cultural capability.

Wishing friends and colleagues Hari Raya Idul Fitri 2024 / Eid al-Fitr 2024. May this time of celebration be a happy one for you. This marks the end of Ramadan for the Muslim community and is a significant moment for some of our nearest neighbours #Malaysia #Indonesia as well as Muslim friends in Australia. It’s a big day for Indonesia and we wish it the best as 204 miilion people vote for a new President and numerous exective roles at all levels. Economic growth has remained around five percent. Business and politics will remain intertwined. The nation’s stability has defied expectation since Reformasi in the late 90’s. It is a complex country that requires building trusted partnerships and fully interrogating business decisions. Something Brett McGuire knows well. The photos are from 2014 when Bisnis Asia founder Helen Brown covered the election including candidate Prabowo Subianto who now finally is close to achieving his goal.
