Last week, we attended the Interservice / Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference in Orlando, Florida, to a great success. We had the privilege of meeting leaders in simulation and training, medical and defence education and government leaders. We had the opportunity to present our experience transitioning to the Epic Games Epic Games Unreal Engine 5, showcase the remarkable Varjo Mixed Reality headsets and demonstrate our Garmin biometrics integration. Skills Meducation is proud to announce we are EU distributor for the BlueRoom Simulation mixed reality system. The first demo unit was installed in our office in Hilversum last week. This innovative simulator provides a high level of realism, environmental immersion and the ability to monitor metrics such as heart rate, SpO2, and stress levels. Additionally, the system allows for the collection and analysis of measurable data, which is crucial for training and evaluating outcomes. Thanks to mixed reality technology, participants can interact with real objects such as tourniquets, medical kits and airway management devices, seamlessly integrated into the virtual world. This creates an immersive effect without losing the sense of working with real equipment. The system offers different TCCC (for Care under fire or threat scenarios) and aeromedical evacuation environments like the UH-60 Black Hawk to the C-17 Globemaster eliminating the need to deploy actual aircraft for training. The PULSE team had a unique opportunity to test the first mixed reality BlueRoom Simulation system in Europe, and we sincerely thank its developers for this experience as well as for Skills Meducation for hosting us at their fantastic facility. This innovative simulator impressed us with its high level of realism, environmental immersion, and the ability to monitor provider metrics such as heart rate, SpO2, and stress levels. Additionally, the system allows for the collection and analysis of measurable data, which is crucial for training and evaluating outcomes. Thanks to mixed reality technologies, participants can interact with real objects such as tourniquets, medical kits, and airway management devices, seamlessly integrated into the virtual world. This creates an immersive effect without losing the sense of working with real equipment. From our team’s perspective, the system seems to have been primarily developed for aeromedical evacuation medics. It offers the opportunity to "experience" various aeromedical platforms, from the UH-60 Black Hawk to the C-17 Globemaster. This makes perfect sense, as it eliminates the need to deploy actual aircraft for training. Additionally, there are scenarios with the Bushmaster, stabilization points, and TCCC scenarios for Care under fire or threat phase . We believe BlueRoom is an excellent and effective tool for professional training. At the same time, it can be used a supplementary training stage that complements traditional methods. BlueRoom demonstrates the ability to practice performing an X-ray inside of a Role 1 Medical Facility using the Australian Micro-X Rover portable X-ray machine. This video is an example of the native interoperability of BlueRoom, being able to simply roll any piece of equipment inside and start using it immediately.
