  • EILEEN KRAMER - 1914-2024 For one of our last posts for the year, we remember the late Eileen Kramer. Eileen was a dancer, choreographer, costume designer, painter and writer who recently passed away in November at the age of 110. Bradfield Senior College was blessed with a number of opportunities to collaborate with Eileen, whose creative spirit left a mark on our students. Eileen was amongst our Industry Experts for our 2019 Project - ‘The Unknown Code’. These images and videos come from the last project Bradfield undertook with Eileen. Eileen was making a film at the age of 106, and Bradfield Fashion and Dance students collaborated create costumes and model choreography for the film. The initial workshops for Dance and Fashion took place in December 2020 (4 years ago this week) over Microsoft teams, between Sydney’s two lockdowns. In February of the following year, Eileen visited the school to see the finished costumes. We are moved by the unceasing creativity of a life well-lived, and we are thankful for the opportunity to have worked with Eileen Kramer. #eileenkramer #dance #fashion #bradfieldseniorcollege

  • PETER COX Award: Peter Cox taught IT with Bradfield Senior College for 25 years, and as the STEM Learning Coordinator, developed many of the learning resources that students at Bradfield use to this day. Peter was a highly inspirational teacher with an incredible passion for IT and his ability to care for, believe in, support, and deeply inspire his students left an indelible mark on everyone. Even in his absence his teachings and spirit continue to guide the school. The Peter Cox Award recognises a student who is gifted in IT and shows the dedication, hard work, and commitment to go a long way in their IT career. It was presented by STEM Learning Coordinator Felicity Saber-Hoese with Peter's family present to give the award. This is the first time we have presented this award. The award includes a financial contribution to contribute support for students’ further education in the IT area. The award will go to HSC graduating students and will be open to all current year 12’s for the 2025 HSC year. This year the Inaugural Peter Cox award goes to two of our HSC graduating students Jayden and Cooper. Jayden showed great growth and development in Software Engineering over the HSC Year. He demonstrates an excellent capacity within the coding space and his teachers believe has great potential to reach a highly developed level as a Software Engineer. Cooper showed great leadership within the College picking up and guiding the current cohort through the introduction of 3D modelling in IDT, he shows great promise in both IT and the Teaching space. Thankyou to Peter's family for supporting the giving of this award at our recent Year 11 awards ceremony, and thankyou to Peter, for your legacy. #stem #softwareengineering #idt #gamedesign #coding #bradfieldseniorcollege #teachinglegacy

  • REVISITING 2024 - FASHION: Adrina talks about the Spark dress As part of this year's SPARK project, the Fashion group created concept dresses inspired by the theme words. In this video, Adrina - from the Fashion group - talks about the dress that became known as 'the Spark dress': https://lnkd.in/gUs45Dim Adrina covers where the idea came from, how she used a miniature to explore how the dress would work, and the challenge of making the garment hang off the body. Thankyou Adrina for sharing your thoughts. Adrina's mentors in the Fashion group were Jo Sykes, Eliza Jarrett and Trish Fairbairn. This video includes music from the SPARK project created by Natasha Mullins. The video was filmed and edited by Michael McLennan. Bradfield is still enrolling for Year 11 2025, where our project will again include a wearable art dimension, now with the theme of Luna Park's 90th birthday.
