To transition farmers to regenerative agriculture and support them to rebuild the carbon in their soil from 1% to 8%.

About us

As a trusted collaborator, we empower Aussie farmers to implement their regenerative journey. We all want to leave the land in better condition than when we arrived. Navigating the journey to regeneration is different for each farmer and we know it can feel overwhelming to decide where to start and what to do next. Farming is more than just principles, practices, and measurements. It’s a deeper understanding of how we connect as stewards with the land. As farmers, experience tells us that the first three years are critical to supporting a farm transition. At Carbon8, we guide, educate and support Aussie farmers for the long run. This ensures ongoing engagement, retention and transition to a regenerative agriculture journey. The primary value to a farmer is soil improvement. This shows up as increased profitability and improved farm resilience. It also protects our unique biodiversity and increases the nutrient density in our food, while decreasing the risk of drought, flooding and desertification. One farm at a time. Our personalised service is tailored to help farmers move in the direction of regeneration and achieve their goals. We do this directly through our Get-Your-Hands-Dirty Carbon8 Programs.

  • Verified RegenGrown Kicks Off Tomorrow – A New Standard in Regenerative Farming 🌱🐨 Tomorrow marks the launch of Verified RegenGrown, Australia’s first 12-week online verification program designed to give farmers a clear pathway to healthier soils, stronger ecosystems, and more resilient, profitable farms. This isn’t another certification. It’s a movement. A mark that consumers will come to recognise—signalling that the food they buy has been grown in landscapes proven to be regenerating. It means healthier soils, more nutrient-dense food, and biodiversity returning to the land. The Koala, an icon of Australia, symbolises this commitment. While beloved, koalas are endangered—yet farmers, managing over 50% of our country’s landscapes, have the power to restore habitats and regenerate ecosystems through their land stewardship. Verified RegenGrown is more than a label—it’s a commitment to a future where agriculture and nature thrive together. Registrations are open now. Join the movement. 🔗 Sign up here https://lnkd.in/g4EntvCB

  • Happy National Regenerative Agriculture Day! The Carbon8 team is jumping for joy today—because, honestly, where the bloody hell would we be without our Aussie farmers?! Seven years ago, we founded National Regenerative Agriculture Day (NRAD) to give every Aussie a reason to pause, reflect, and celebrate the incredible men and women who are restoring our landscapes, regenerating our soils, and feeding us with nutrient-dense, life-giving food. Over the years, we’ve shared stories, gathered in community, and deepened our connection to the farmers who make it all possible. So today, we say THANK YOU to you—the farmer reading this. We see your resilience, your hard work, and the challenges you take on every single day. We recognise your deep commitment to your land, your family, and the future of food. Join us in celebrating by showing some love and #HEARTYOURFARMER—because at the end of the day, farmers are just superheroes in Blundstones. #NationalRegenerativeAgricultureDay #Carbon8

  • It was an absolute privilege to be in the presence of the incredible Dan Kittredge, a true pioneer in the world of NUTRIENT DENSITY. 🥕🥕🥕 Dan was hosted by regenerative farmers Georgina and Sam of Bello Beef, and while it’s tough to put his insightful talk into a neat little box, the core message is clear. The research they’ve been conducting reveals a startling truth: there's no reliable connection between labels like "local," "organic," "regenerative," or even "farmers’ market" and nutrient density. What is consistently evident, however, is the direct correlation between soil health and nutrient density. The much-celebrated claims that regenerative agriculture inherently leads to more nutrient-dense food are only valid if it results in healthier soil. And in some cases, it doesn't. Soil health is the starting point – without it, everything else falls short. And here’s the takeaway: the five essential needs for soil to thrive are simple yet profound. It needs: Water Air Minerals Food Biological activity (in other words, LIFE!) Dan Kittredge has been an organic farmer for over three decades and is the founder of the Bionutrient Food Association (BFA), a non-profit dedicated to improving food quality. His work is centred on demonstrating the crucial links between soil health, plant health, and ultimately, human health. It’s a reminder that everything comes back to the soil – and we have so much to learn from its vitality. Big thanks to Georgina and Sam at Levenvale Farm/Bello Beef for hosting us. Let’s keep this conversation going, for the health of the land, the food, and all of us. 🌱

  • A must listen! Our board member Gundula Rhoades recently chatted to vet and marine health expert Matt Landos about the true effects of agricultural chemicals on the greater environment. Chemical farming isn’t just harming our soil, our air, and our health—it’s wreaking havoc beneath the waterline, too. 🌊 Matt and Gundy break it down in the most recent episode of her podcast 'The Regenerative Vet': how the widespread use of chemicals in agriculture is devastating aquatic ecosystems and why our governments and agencies aren’t stepping up to fix it. This is crucial information, especially when you realise nearly all non-organic food is grown using these harmful practices. The ripple effects don’t stop at our farms—they’re flowing into our rivers, oceans, and the wildlife that depend on them. We say it often, but it bears repeating: What you buy matters! Every choice you make for organic, regeneratively grown food helps shift the system toward one that nurtures life instead of destroying it. Listen, share, and amplify Matt’s message. Our ecosystems—and our future—depend on it. 💚 #Carbon8 #RegenerativeAgriculture #Ecosystems #RegenAg #AussieFarmers #ChooseRegenerative https://lnkd.in/dkaHXemi

🌱 A Misty Maleny Gathering Dreaming Up a Regenerative Future for Aussie Farmers 🌱 This week, the Carbon8 crew gathered in the misty hills of Maleny—a scene straight out of a storybook—to dig into the big dreams and bold plans of our small org. There, in the quiet magic of the fog, we rolled up our sleeves to map out our path forward, shaping a vision that reaches well beyond 2025 for the future of Aussie farming and land stewardship. It wasn’t all talk and tea; we got real about what it’s going to take to restore biodiversity, cut out chemicals, and bring healthy food back to Aussie tables. From backing soil health to supporting the native wildlife that call our farmlands home, we set down some solid, boots-on-the-ground strategies to stand by our farmers who are giving back to the land every day. This day wasn’t just about setting goals—it was about honouring the land, the farmers, and the communities that make up the heart and soul of Carbon8. With the mist rolling around us, we felt the power of these commitments more than ever. We can't wait to share with you our next big project, this one is going to change the shape of the food industry as we know it! Here’s to the ones nurturing this vision with their hands in the soil and eyes on a thriving, resilient Country 💚 Kelly Jones Helen McCosker Michael McCosker Rachelle Armstrong Todd Samorowski Marcia Smith Gundula Rhoades Daniel Lambert FTSE Ellen Jeffrey #Carbon8 #RegenAg #RegenerativeAgriculture #AussieFarmers #MalenyMagic #Biodiversity

  • Last week, the Carbon8 crew travelled to Tasmania to film Vegetable Disclosure, a documentary that gets right into the nitty-gritty of Australia’s food chain. We spent our time there chatting with some incredible Tasmanian scientists, activists, journalists, and environmentalists, each one sharing their insights on the state of our food systems. What we uncovered about the salmon industry is downright shocking and honestly pretty upsetting. The reality of it all is a real wake-up call for anyone who cares about animal welfare, the environment, or the heavy-handed grip that multinationals have on our food supply. It's safe to say we won't be letting anyone we care about continue to purchase Tasmanian Atlantic salmon. We urge you to do your own research and stay tuned for the documentary that will share more. A massive thank you to all the folks who opened up to us and to everyone working tirelessly to bring these issues to light. Your hard work and dedication are truly inspiring, and we stand with you in the fight for a healthier, more transparent food system.
