Updates

  • There’s a lot of focus on culture at the moment, particularly for hybrid workforces. Which is why we’re so proud of the results of our most recent employee survey. Care Connect staff work across three states, in the office, remotely and on the road. We’re a mix of employment types – full time, part-time and permanent part-time. Despite this, 90% of us ‘clearly understand our individual role in supporting or clients to receive exceptional care’ and 84% feel ‘well supported by our team’. Reflecting Care Connect’s corporate values of collaboration, courage, authenticity, respect, and excellence, we’ve said we receive sufficient time and support from our manager, and feel comfortable in sharing feedback and opinions with our manager. And we strongly value the work Care Connect does - “making a difference to our community” and “supporting those in need”. Want to experience an organisational culture consistently described as ‘friendly, supportive and caring’? Check out our careers page https://lnkd.in/eS8jjXs2

  • We are delighted to celebrate Nikki Loughran, our Care Manager in the Southeast Melbourne team, as she reaches an incredible five-year milestone with Care Connect! Here’s what Nikki had to share about her journey: “I started off with Care Connect in the Queensland/Northern New South Wales team in 2019 as a Care Manager for the Home Care Package program. This was weeks before Care Managers changed from being office-based to being a mobile workforce and working from home. A few months later COVID hit and I, along with the rest of the team, had the unique experience of servicing clients in two states with a closed border in between for many months. Even though I absolutely loved my team and my Manager Maria, I decided to move back to Victoria to be closer to my family in early 2022. I was lucky enough to be recommended for the position of Team Leader of the Southeast Melbourne Home Care Package team and led them for about 6 months, then also took on the Team Leader role for the Northeast Melbourne team until mid-2023. I really missed the contact with my own clients, so made the decision to move back into a Care Management role in August 2023. I’m thrilled that I did too, because I love my job! I get so much satisfaction and pleasure at seeing the difference I can make for people – from helping them to understand the aged care system and its rules, to improving someone’s independence or building their confidence about advocating for themselves or even making staying at home just that bit easier. It may be a bit corny, but I like to approach each client’s situation as if they were my Mum or Dad. What would I want for them? It’s such a privilege and an honour that my clients trust me enough to include me on their journey and I treasure that. I’m very grateful that I have a job I’m passionate about that helps people at the same time.” Congratulations, Nikki, on this remarkable achievement. Your dedication, passion, and commitment to making a difference inspire us all. Here’s to many more years of empowering lives and creating meaningful connections!

  • Question 2 - Do I have to transition to the Support at Home program? Starting 1 July 2025, everyone currently receiving Home Care or waiting for a Home Care Package (HCP) will automatically move to the new Support at Home Program—no reassessment needed. When you move to Support at Home, your funding will be the same as your current HCP level. If you have unspent funds, they will carry over and can be used for extra services, assistive technology, or approved home modifications. If you’ve been on the National Priority System waiting list, your Support at Home funding will match the HCP level you were approved for when the program begins.
