Our first Central Australian Women's Legal Service x Ladies Finance Club Lunchtime Series Webinar – 'Money Makeover' – was a great success. With over 50 women attending both virtually and in person, it was a powerful start to this new initiative 💲🙌 A special mention to Molly Benjamin from Ladies Finance Club, whose engaging and inclusive presentation style made financial education feel accessible and relatable for everyone involved 👏 Her energy and approach created an empowering space for learning 🙌✨ ℹ️ This series is all about making financial education more accessible for women across our communities. With sessions on money management, investing, and property ownership, we hope that together, we can strengthen financial knowledge and confidence for women across the Territory and Australia wide 📈🤔 We look forward to continuing this important series in 2025 💪💰 Register for our next session via 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gXAWsNag

⚠️ Two horrific attacks this week have rocked our community and laid bare an undeniable truth: Women, children, and families deserve to be safe. No excuses. ❌ No exceptions. ❌ In Larapinta, a mother cradling her two-month-old baby was allegedly attacked in her own home. Her baby has been left with a serious head injury - an unimaginable outcome for any family. On the Eastside, a 29-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted as she slept - violated in the very place she should feel safest. These attacks are not isolated. They are a brutal reminder of the violence our community continues to face. The Central Australian Women's Legal Service stands resolute in our fight for the safety of women, children and families ✊ Enough is enough. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their homes, their streets, and their lives. It’s not negotiable - it’s a right. 🔗 https://bit.ly/3ORSB4L

📍 The Central Australian Women's Legal Service Education Team recently participated in a 2-day workshop designed to build skills for engaging people who use violence. 🗣️ Led by Hala A. from the Institute of non-violence, the team explored innovative approaches to working with shame and trauma in a behaviour change setting. 💬 CAWLS looks forward to integrating new perspectives and training techniques into our education offerings designed to support frontline services across Central Australia and the Barkly, to better identify and respond to disclosures of DFSV, including working with those who have used violence.

Together with our sister specialist women’s legal services across the Territory, we stand united in opposing any attempt to undermine the reproductive rights of Territory women 🚨 The 2021 reforms to the 'Termination of Pregnancy Law Reform Act' ensure equitable, safe healthcare access - rights that must be protected ⚠️ 📢 We call on the Public Accounts Committee to send a clear message: women’s autonomy and choice are non-negotiable, no matter where they live ✊⚖️
