We couldn't be more proud to announce that last week, Cera Stribley Co-Founder and Managing Principal, Dom Cerantonio was officially named the winner in The Urban Developer's inaugural The Urban Leader Awards — Architecture & Design category. This achievement is made all the more gratifying in light of the calibre of the competition, with other shortlisted nominees hailing from practices that we greatly respect. We are incredibly proud of the work that we do, not only in the design industry, but also throughout the broader property industry. To be recognised as leaders within the space is truly humbling. Thank you to everyone involved for all your support, you know who you are. Planning & Property Partners

Following a gruelling three-year journey through the planning system, we're thrilled to be able to say that our design for Above Zero's latest townhouse development, in Camberwell, have officially secured approval at VCAT. This marks a huge win for the entire team, especially given the notoriously strict planning controls in this sought-after pocket of Melbourne. We owe an enormous THANK YOU to our client, AJ Batra, for his patience, persistence, and trust throughout the process; to Best Hooper Lawyers and Human Habitats for their invaluable input along the way; and, of course, to our incredible team for their tireless work in securing approval for this first-of-its-kind project. Last night, Australian Design Review officially unveiled the shortlist for the 2024 Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), and we're thrilled to announce that, in addition to our three shortlisted projects, Cera Stribley has been nominated for Designer of the Year! It’s truly humbling to be recognized by our industry peers, especially considering the calibre of talent demonstrated by past Designer of the Year winners, and those also nominated alongside us in 2024.

We're incredibly proud to announce that our very own Head of Houses, Sarah Wardlaw, has been nominated – and officially accepted – into the 2024 iteration of the Property Council of Australia's '500 Women In Property' program 👏 For those unfamiliar with the program, 500 Women In Property is an annual mentorship program that exists to accelerate more women into leadership positions in the property industry. "I see this program as a catalyst—not just for my own growth, but for reshaping the future of our industry," says Sarah. "Being a leader (regardless of gender) is about being able to nurture the next generation of talent. I look forward to extending what I learn through this program to my broader team." Congratulations, Sarah, we can't think of anyone more deserving of this honour!

Victoria's ban on Engineered Stone, effective July 1, 2024, marks a pivotal shift in the architecture, design, and construction industries. But it is a good thing! The wellbeing of people – be they tradespeople onsite or the client who will call a space home – is at the heart of all architectural and design practice. This shift does, however, present a challenge for the industry to navigate. Such transitions are never easy, but they offer valuable opportunities to learn from peers and elevate our design consciousness. Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of attending an insightful panel discussion on navigating these industry changes. Moderated by our Interior Design Director, Jessica Coulter, the panel featured industry leaders, Brahman Perera, Jade Whittaker, and Con Papadakis. They shared their expertise on designing and specifying materials more thoughtfully and guiding clients through this journey. Their insight sparked plenty of food for thought, and left us eager to learn more. Here's to embarking on the journey forward together. 🥂 Huge thanks to NEOLITH, Australian Design Review and Niche Media for hosting such a fantastic event!
