About us

Customs and Global Trade Law specialises in issues that impact logistics professionals and international supply chains. Services include customs compliance, dumping and countervailing, trade concessions, dispute resolution, quarantine, shipping and transport and commercial documents. The direction of CGT Law is Russell Wiese. Russell has specialised in customs and trade law for 15 years. Russell works closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers and their clients. Over the past 15 years Russell has developed first hand knowledge of the technical issues impacting the industry as well as the practical and commercial issues. Russell's connection to the industry has grown strongly over the past 7 years as he has been the principal legal counsel for the leading industry body, Freight and Trade Alliance. Russell regularly presents training to FTA members. CGT Law's knowledge of customs and trade issues is supplemented by involvement on relevant legal and Government committees. Russell is the current chair of the Law Council of Australia's Customs and International Transactions Committee. Russell is also a member of the Anti-Dumping Commission's Trade Remedies Forum. CGT Law has a genuine focus on customs, trade and transport.
