We went to Canberra this week to meet with some of our partners and stakeholders including Therapeutic Goods Administration’s Tony Lawler, Nick Henderson and Avinash Clarke, Painaustralia’s Monika B., as well as our member Precision Public Affairs who organised a Boardroom Briefing with Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care, Sen. As we wrap up 2024, we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Judy Stenmark as Chief Executive Officer from January 6th, 2025. Judy joins CHP Australia from the Global Self-Care Federation (GSCF) in Geneva, where she served as Director General since 2018. In this role, she represented consumer healthcare product associations and manufacturers and was instrumental in establishing international stakeholder partnerships to gain recognition for the value of self-care in health policy. This resulted in self-care being included in the agenda of many global agencies, including WHO. Judy brings extensive industry and policy experience, most recently from her GSCF role, and earlier from her leadership of the Australian and International Osteoporosis Industry Associations. She is a qualified health specialist and holds a Masters in Public Health, making her ideally positioned to lead CHP Australia as the foremost voice of the consumer healthcare products sector. Judy’s leadership will be key in representing the economic and social value of the industry, and the role that the industry plays in empowering Australians to take an active role in their own healthcare, and to make informed, safe decisions. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Deon Schoombie for his outstanding leadership over the last 14 years. He leaves the organisation in a strong place, and we are excited to continue building on the solid foundation he has established. Thank you for your support in this jampacked year, the CHP Australia team look forward to working with you under Judy’s leadership in 2025.
