Our founder, Ken Griffin, joined Bloomberg’s Sonali Basak in a fireside chat at the Economic Club of New York (ECNY). Ken shared his thoughts on driving economic growth in America and why business and civic leaders must stay engaged in helping to solve big challenges ahead. “I like to believe that my children will grow up in a country where their generation will say the American Dream that people fought for 250 years ago is still alive and well,” Ken told the ECNY audience. “And I think everyone in this room has an obligation to continue that fight.”

Our CEO Peng Zhao appeared at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s third annual Global Financial Leaders’ Investment Summit, participating in the panel "The Future of Finance — Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization.” Peng shared our approach to the application of artificial intelligence. “Knowing which areas we expect the highest level of return from an investment in AI and automation in general … has been the focus for myself and my leadership team,” he told the audience. “Those are tools at our disposal, but just because we can use those tools, that doesn’t make them the best tools possible.” He also discussed how technology, analytics and automation have profoundly changed markets and trading in recent years and how we have been using machine learning techniques in our day-to-day activities for the last decade.
