  • 🌙✨ Your 24-36 Month Sleep Routine: ✨🌙 As your little one grows into their toddler years, we're here to guide you through the final phase of our sleep routine series for 24-36 month-olds! 🌜 Guiding Lights: Let these suggested sleep timings be gentle guides, tuning in to your toddler’s cues and aligning your rhythm with their evolving needs. 💤 One Nap Routine: By now, most toddlers will have firmly established a consistent one-nap routine, and are able to self soothe to sleep. 😴 Longer Wake Periods: Wake periods may increase to up to 6-7 hours with their nap typically in the middle of the day. Aim for a maximum of 2 hours nap time to avoid disruption to sleep quality overnight. Some children may start to move towards shorter naps of 45 minutes or begin to drop their nap all together. 👶 Supporting Developmental Progressions: Your child is building on skills like climbing and throwing and kicking balls, and can now confidently tackle stairs. Language development is in full swing and many children are able to construct sentences and identify common objects. Separation anxiety starts to subside, as your child begins to express their emotions openly. 🔧 Stay Adaptable: Flexibility is key as you continue to adjust routines to meet your toddler’s changing sleep patterns and needs. If you notice a pattern of less sleep overnight, frequent night waking, or early rising, consider reducing nap time to optimise your child’s night sleep. 📘 Sleep Support: For more insights on optimising your little one’s sleep routine or navigating any transitions, reach out for personalised support. Remember, as you wrap up this phase of your sleep journey, our village is here to provide ongoing guidance and support. 💤🌈 . . . • “Get out of your head & into your heart.” 💖 In the journey of parenting, it's easy to get caught up in advice, opinions, and the endless stream of information telling you what you should do. But deep down, you have an incredible tool that often knows what’s best—your intuition. 🌟 Parenting isn't about following a rigid set of rules; it's about tuning into what feels right for you and your child. When you step out of your head and into your heart, you give yourself permission to trust your instincts. You know your child better than anyone, and your intuition is your inner compass guiding you toward decisions that resonate with your family’s unique rhythm. Remember, every child is different, and so is every parenting journey. What works for one may not work for another, and that's perfectly okay. Embrace the moments when you feel unsure, and instead of overthinking, listen to what your heart is telling you. 💫 At Connection Village, we support parents in following their intuition and creating a nurturing environment that aligns with their values and their child's needs. Trust yourself—you’ve got this. 🧡 . . . . . . #parenting #intuition #connectionvillage #trustyourself #parentingjourney #consciousparenting #followyourheart

  • Children are naturally easy-going, loving, cooperative, and eager to learn. 🌟 However, a child’s good nature can be obscured by big feelings. When children feel sad, frightened, frustrated, embarrassed, or alone, their good nature may be hidden. 😟 Such emotions pull a child’s behaviour off track, steering them away from trust, cooperation, and enthusiasm. Hurt feelings confine a child to unloving, fearful, or inflexible behaviour, which is a clear request for help. 🙏 An upset or inflexible child will recover from their feelings if a caring adult steps in warmly and listens as they express and offload these BIG feelings. Parents who adopt a conscious approach to offer gentle attention, connect, support, and listen enable their child to heal and recover during troublesome times. 🌈 They soon find that a child’s upset or off-track behaviour is their way of signalling these BIG feelings. Children’s emotional outbursts are a natural recovery process that restores their ability to relax, love, and learn. 💕 Children whose deep feelings are listened to develop confidence in their own strength and intelligence, as well as trust in their parents’ love. 💪❤️ Hope and affection fill a child’s heart after they’ve shed their noisy, vigorously unhappy feelings. If your child is showing off-track behaviour, having regular tantrums, struggling with transitions, protesting when a loving limit is set, or crying for what seems to be no reason, reach out for support today (link in bio) xx . . . . . . #children #village #listen #feelings #parents #support #hurtfeelings #behaviour #tantrums #child #connection #village #connectionvillage #parenting #motherhood #fatherhood

  • Very wise words @drjodycarrington 🌻 Viewing our children’s behaviour through a different lens can make all the difference in how we respond to their behaviour. We need to look behind the behaviour to uncover and meet the need. By doing this we are saying yes to the big feelings flooding our child, and telling them all of their feelings are welcome. Our role is to connect, empathise, and show compassion for their feelings; teaching our children healthy ways to express all their BIG feelings rather than trying to “fix or stop” the feelings. . . . . . . #consciousparenting #expressingemotions #bigfeelings #empahy #compassion #connection #village #children #parenting #wholechild #connectionvillage

  • ✨It is OK to parent your way! Empower yourself to advocate for your family by getting clear on your parenting boundaries; where are you willing to be flexible and what is a hard NO when it comes to parenting. So often beautiful parents I support raise their concerns around judgement of their parenting. Big feelings come up for them, especially when trying to parent in a way that may be so different to how other family members and friends parent. Play and connection can be great ways to manage awkward situations. Offering some silliness and following the giggles. By bringing laughter to tricky situations we can free up everyone's clear thinking. You can do this in the moment if it's possible without shaming anyone or making anyone feel mocked, or you can play through the situation with your child later. By offering your child some Playlistening to work through any accumulated feelings they carry from the experience, they can heal and recover. . . . . #connection #play #conciousparenting #playlistening #boundaries #village #parentcoaching #sleep #empowered #parenting #boundaries

  • Nearly every one of us starts out playing naturally. As children, we don’t need instruction on how to play. We just find what we enjoy and do it - Stuart Brown Children view the world through an emotional lens; almost like a 6th sense. PLAY is how they learn. PLAY is how they connect and bond. PLAY is how they release stress, tension and frustration. PLAY is the work of children. 🎨 Sensory Play: Diving into textures, smells, and sensations that ignite their senses, fostering curiosity and understanding of the world. 🌈 Imaginative Play: Embarking on fantastical journeys as superheroes, explorers, or characters from their wildest dreams, where creativity knows no bounds. 🏃♂️ Physical Play: Racing, jumping, and climbing – this play builds strong bodies and boosts confidence as they conquer new physical feats. 👫 Social Play: Sharing, collaborating, and interacting with peers, cultivating valuable social skills and the art of communication. 👥 Parallel Play: Engaging alongside peers without direct interaction, allowing them to build comfort in a shared environment. 🔄 Repetitive Play: Doing the same activities over and over, which is how they master new skills and concepts. 🏗️ Constructive Play: Building, creating, and designing with blocks, LEGO, or other materials, honing problem-solving and spatial awareness. 🎯 Special-interests Play: Deep diving into a particular interest, nurturing expertise and passion while expanding their knowledge. 🔍 Object-focused Play: Investigating and exploring objects, developing an understanding of how things work and what they're used for. 🔧 Manipulative Play: Using their hands and fingers to manipulate objects like puzzles, strengthening fine motor skills and cognitive development. Play is a dynamic, ever-evolving adventure. Share in the comments how your little ones embrace these forms of play and inspire others to embark on their unique play journey. 🌟🎈 . . . . . . #conciousparenting #connection #connectionvillage #creativeplay #holisticsleepcoaching #nurturingconnections #parentingjourney #parentsvillage #playfullearning #village #waystoplay

  • We all strive to be perfect parents…. But when we look at the meaning of perfection: “Perfection is a flawless state where everything is exactly right. It can also be the action of making something perfect. Since perfect things are without fault or flaw, perfection is a perfect condition — everything is 100% great” Perfection doesn’t exist…. when was the last time everything was 100% great? Let’s strive for connection over perfection 💛 Lean in to how we can connect in with those we love, how we can nurture relationships, and what it is that really makes us happy, so we can progress in our parenting. . . .
