We love supporting FareShare through our companies such as Conga Foods . FareShare is a great organisation that has made huge impact from humble beginnings and with such a powerful purpose and future ahead!
Our friends at Conga Foods – the home of much-loved food brands like Moro oil and Rana pasta – have taken their ethos of sharing to another level! Conga Foods are generous food donors to FareShare, and recently donated us fresh lasagne sheets, which our chefs and a wonderful group from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools transformed into 2,500 scrumptious meat and veggie lasagne meals for people doing it tough [see second picture]. Fun Fact: Did you know that by cutting lasagne into thick strips, you create pappardelle? Our chefs did; they used the remaining lasagne sheets to make 7,000 additional pappardelle meals! These fellow foodies followed up their donation by giving up their time to volunteer in the FareShare Abbotsford kitchen this month. Over two shifts, they: 🍄 prepared 850 delicious, ready-to-eat mushroom agnolotti with pumpkin and bacon sauce and parmesan meals, 🍝 prepared 677 winter-warming, homestyle tortellini in chunky vegetable sauce meals, 🔪 chopped hundreds of kilos of cauliflower and leeks for future meals, 🍛 and prepped 40 big trays of rice to accompany hundreds more meals.
