An appetite for social good.
About us
At Cultivate, we have an appetite for social good. Cultivate Food and Beverage is Bedford Group's first social enterprise venture servicing the state’s growing food and beverage sector. Our purpose is to deliver quality food and beverage products, while scaling social impact. Bedford-backed Cultivate employs over 140 workers and trainees at two sites - a commercial kitchen and food storage facility in Brooklyn Park, and the Cultivate Bakery at Lobethal in the Adelaide Hills. A third site will be based at the Advanced Manufacturing and Retail Hub in Salisbury, due to open in early 2025. Cultivate offers a full supply-chain solution, including procurement, contract food manufacturing, cold storage, logistics and packaging services. With a distribution network of national and independent retailers, including Coles, Woolworths and Drakes, Cultivate much-loved brands Emmaline's, Emma and Myrtle's, and Barossa Pizza reach more than 1,500 retail outlets in SA, Vic, NSW, WA and Qld. Cultivate has an open employment setting, and a social charter that commits to a minimum of 20% of its workforce represented by people with disability, or those experiencing other barriers to work. The kitchens at Cultivate are a training ground producing some of our country’s future chefs and hospitality workers. By purchasing Cultivate products, or partnering with us for contract food manufacturing services, you will be providing job opportunities in open employment to otherwise marginalised job seekers. We would love to talk to you about how we can help you achieve your ESG targets - social and environmental impact is ingrained in the way we do business.

South Australian food icons Emmaline’s and Beerenberg Pty Ltd have this month launched a partnership first, with the national release of a limited-edition raspberry jam tart. The much-loved Emmaline’s range, which is stocked nationally, forms part of Cultivate Food and Beverage's stable of brands whilst Beerenberg remains one of the most recognised labels within the Australian food industry. Bedford Enterprises Chief Operating Officer Sam Hunter said Cultivate, a Bedford backed social enterprise, is thrilled to bring this partnership with Beerenberg to life through the Emmaline’s brand. “The partnership with Beerenberg represents an exciting first for Cultivate as we continue to seek new opportunities to expand the Emmaline’s range nationally and invest in product development,” he said.
