Working instinctively with texture and colour Hunt, rejects the limitation of line and form to embrace the potency of space, not empty, not superfluous, but alive. Doing away even with the line between horizon and sky 'A Thousand Miles' presents elemental vastness; the time between a cloud’s collision and thunder, between a star’s death and its light; not as a distance to overcome so much as an abundance to revel in. Huge congratulations to Kiata Mason on being selected as a finalist in the 2025 Muswellbrook Art Prize for her incredible work 'the ocean within', 2025. Says Kiata of her successful entry, “The work is about a world within a world. Weaving make-believe and reality. The ocean is wild and unpredictable, bringing connection and creativity to my life. This piece meditates on its presence within my studio, reflecting on the power of the ocean, from the safety and comfort of my home.” The exhibition will run from 27 March – 24 May at Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre. Tiarna Herczeg was recently commissioned by interior design studio Fiona Lynch for Lendlease to create the feature work of the parkland activation of Hickson Park, Barangaroo. The original artwork painted by Herczeg was screen printed to created bespoke fabric for a series of floor cushions and folding chairs. The site, formerly known as East Darling Harbour, is a 22-ha site with a 1.4 km harbour foreshore frontage located on the north-western edge of the Sydney’s CBD.
