Simon Cardwell’s work starts within the traditions of photography and branches out to a more manipulated and painterly concept of placement, colour, and design. ◼️ View Simon's incredible work online via link in bio! Cardwell's candidly surrealist methodology then manipulates beautifully rendered arrangements of botanic art or nature-morte into serene meditations via which we ponder and experience essential stillness, the quietude of primary existence, of simple or simply being, within the solace of the self. It was a sensational evening celebrating the opening of Theresa Hunt's latest body of work 'A Thousand Miles'. Thank you to all who joined us and look forward to welcoming guests, family and friends into the gallery to experience this incredible exhibition through till 15 March. ⚫️ View catalogue + available work via link in bio! In her work, we are confronted by an artist who openly relishes the fluidity of her medium. Working instinctively with texture and colour Hunt, rejects the limitation of line and form to embrace the potency of space, not empty, not superfluous, but alive. Doing away even with the line between horizon and sky 'A Thousand Miles' presents elemental vastness; the time between a cloud’s collision and thunder, between a star’s death and its light; not as a distance to overcome so much as an abundance to revel in. Theresa Hunt's 'Echoes of the Heart' is now on show in our Woolloomooloo gallery as part of her latest body of work, 'A Thousand Miles'. JOIN US for the opening celebration TONIGHT, Wednesday 26 February from 5:30-8pm. ⚫️ View catalogue + available work via link in bio! For Hunt, the boundaries between wind, tide, earth and sky blur then vanish, neither the one thing or the many. Much like staring out at the open sea, a collection of rolling hills, or the rain coming in, standing before these paintings is a reminder that even in moments of great loneliness we are never truly separate from the world, we cannot be carved from it. (Billie Phillips, 2024) Exhibition runs through till 15 March. @theresahuntartist #sydneyartist #sydneygallery #sydneyexhibition #contemporaryart #seascape #oilpainting #landscapepainting

NOW OPEN is Theresa Hunt's latest body of incredible paintings 'A Thousand Miles', showing in our Woolloomooloo gallery through till 15 March. JOIN US for the opening celebration TONIGHT Wednesday 26 February from 5:30-8pm. ⚫️ View catalogue + available work via link in bio! It is this unreachable realm of the unfixed and limitless that is reflected in Hunt’s 'A Thousand Miles'. The series of new paintings, awash with light and shadow, appear at once liquid and mutable yet construed with masterful precision. For Hunt, the boundaries between wind, tide, earth and sky blur and then vanish, neither the one thing nor the many. Much like staring out at the open sea, a collection of rolling hills, or the rain coming in, standing before these paintings is a reminder that even in moments of great loneliness, we are never truly separate from the world, we cannot be carved from it.
