Boutique Advisers Private Wealth are excited to be sponsoring the Women in Financial Planning Scholarship with Curtin University. The scholarship has been established to encourage and support women to excel in their studies whilst at Curtin and to help set them up for their careers in Financial Planning. 🌱💡 UNAAWA’s Young Professionals Committee recently hosted an inspiring event focused on entrepreneurship and sustainability! Expert panelists shared invaluable insights, empowering attendees to engage in businesses that align with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for a fairer, greener future. 🌍 Key takeaways: 1. Chris O'Hare, Business Advisor for the SBDC stressed the importance of implementing the long term business plan, market testing, and solving customer problems to stay competitive. 2. Robyn Ouschan, Senior Lecturer at Curtin University highlighted gaps in the sustainability market, offering opportunities for young entrepreneurs to explore, while promoting circular economy models. 3. Simon Renwick, Managing Director of WaveX shared lessons in the renewable energy sector, advising entrepreneurs to step outside their comfort zones and choose investors carefully. 4. Michelle Rhodes, Non-Executive Director of Decarbonology discussed the carbon emissions offsetting industry and shared her journey of forming partnerships, balancing mental health with the demands of entrepreneurship. 5. Michael Wear, Founder of Tidal Moon showcased a community-driven approach, working with traditional custodians in and around Malgana (Shark Bay) to restore ecosystems through the Blue Carbon economy. The event wrapped up with an engaging Q&A, with attendees discussing ethical business trends, AI, and how to make a meaningful impact.
