The Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) is looking for a Ranger in Charge. As the Ranger in Charge you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Triabunna-Maria Island Field Centre. You will be responsible for a small team of dedicated and highly competent individuals who focus on the management of a diverse range of reserves in the region. This area ranges from Swansea to Marion Bay, Whiteford to Nugent. Your days will be varied as you work to ensure the effective management of people and resources to enhance the experience and safety of visitors to reserves within the Triabunna region and Maria Island National Park.  You will work with a range of stakeholders and be embedded into the community, overseeing the management of coastal, off-shore island, forested and marine reserves, including Maria Island National Park and the Darlington Convict World Heritage Area. Grants of $1.3 million will be distributed across 41 sites around the state through the second round of the Built Heritage Grants Scheme. The grant funds will support owners and custodians of heritage properties to conserve, restore and activate these places so that they can be enjoyed for generations to come. Some of the projects receiving funding include the Hop Kiln Wall Restoration in New Norfolk, Restoration of Woodbury Barracks in the Southern Midlands, the Parkham Anglican Church and Hall restoration project in the Meander Valley and the St John’s Church Tower Water ingress project in Launceston.
