  • It was lovely to catch up with Hon Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison MP at Banrock Station during her recent visit to the Riverland. It was also great to hear from Banrock Station’s Cellar Door Manager, Ronelle, talking about the recent return of water to their stunning wetlands after Drying Season. The view speaks for itself! Pictured are Banrock Station’s Ronelle Linke, Georgia Geelen & Kate Gillespie from Destination Riverland and Hon Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison MP.

  • Yesterday DR staff Kate & Georgia attended the official opening of the 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁. The infrastructure was officially opened by Hon Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison MP and Renmark Paringa Council Mayor Peter Hunter, before attendees walked along the new space. Congratulations to the Renmark Paringa Council and all the businesses involved that delivered this project 👏 We can’t wait to see visitors enjoying this new asset! ℹ️ 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼 (thanks to RPC) 👇 The project was made possible through funding from the Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program, and the Local Government Disaster Recovery Assistance Arrangements. Funding was also received from the South Australia Constraints Measures project being delivered by the Government of South Australia and funded by the Australian Government, as part of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan. The project, led by Ecospec Coastal and Marine, injected an estimated $2 million into the local economy through the involvement of over 40 local businesses! 📸Images thanks to Grant Schwartzkopff

  • The team at Destination Riverland have spent upwards of ten years building a community of people who love our amazing Riverland region through our consumer-facing Facebook and Instagram channels. Unfortunately, Destination Riverland’s consumer-facing Instagram account was recently hacked, and we have sadly been unable to recover it. We are devastated to have lost not only our carefully curated account that showcased our beloved Riverland, but our wonderful community of followers. We have decided to push on and create a brand-new account - @visitriverland – so that we can continue to showcase all that our spectacular region has to offer. In order to reach our audience, and hopefully gain a whole heap of new followers, we need your help. How can you help? - Follow our new account @visitriverland on Instagram 👉 https://lnkd.in/gX2SWzmF - Share the first post on @visitriverland to your Instagram story and encourage your followers to follow us - You can also share this post to your Facebook feed to help spread the word! 👉 https://lnkd.in/gb94vCrp Please note that the Riverland, South Australia Facebook page has not been affected, and will continue as normal.

So this happened on Tuesday… We are beyond excited, shocked and proud to have been named “Innovative Vineyard of the Year - Groundbreaker in the Young Gun of Wine Awards'' We are still pinching ourselves and could not be more grateful to receive such a fabulous award. We are emerging and relatively unknown as a winemaker but we are so pleased about this recognition of our commitment to sustainability on our vineyard and in our community. This award also speaks a thousand words about what is possible viticulturally in the vineyards of the Riverland region as well in the world of wine, fashioning bright, fresh, elegant, approachable and affordable wine for modern day consumers. May I also acknowledge past winners of this award Ricca Terra Farms for their ‘groundbreaking’ work to place our sunny region in the spotlight. Now, time to celebrate - with wine, of course! 🥂 #starrsreachvineyard #riverlandwine #younggunofwine #vineyardoftheyear

  • Last Friday, Destination Riverland staff and our Chair, Markos attended the official opening of Par Five Shacks, a stunning new accommodation offering that overlooks the picturesque Berri Golf Course. This project is a great example of collaboration 🤝 - A contribution from the South Australian Tourism Commission's Tourism Industry Development Fund was a key support that enabled the project to come to fruition - 95% of those that worked on the project were local Riverlanders or Riverland businesses, which positively impacted the Region’s economy - Par Five Shacks will continue to provide employment in our region, utilising the expertise of 1834 Hotels, and working together with the Berri Hotel & Big River Tavern #visitriverland

  • ⭐️ MEET THE DR STAFF! ⭐️ It’s been a little while since we’ve introduced the faces behind Destination Riverland (DR), the regional tourism organisation for the Riverland. This is Kate & Emerson, DR’s little team of two! Kate has been at DR for coming up six years and recently took over the role of General Manager. In her time at DR, she has enjoyed helping create campaigns that market our amazing region, building strong relationships with tourism businesses, curating meaningful industry events and using her creative skills to put the Riverland brand out there. Her Riverland go-to’s are an Arrosto coffee to start the day and a Lake Bonney sunset to end the day! ☀️ Emerson started at DR in January as Tourism Coordinator and has hit the ground running in all things marketing, design, comms + admin. Her creativity can be seen all throughout our latest Riverlanders campaign, across our socials, website, newsletters + more! Her Riverland go-to's are enjoying a gin and pizza at the 23rd St Distillery, and walks along the Loxton Riverfront! 🍸 We look forward to introducing you to the other legends that make DR team– our incredible volunteer board directors. Stay tuned! 👋🏼
