Perth's multi-disciplinary community for sharing transformative ideas

About us

Digital Transformation Perth is a multi-disciplinary group that comes together to share ideas on transformation, discuss lessons learned, and brainstorm on how to bring about effective change in our organisations. This group is for anyone involved or interested in transformation — lean practitioners (inc. Six Sigma), data scientists, design nuts, organisational development practitioners, Future of Work aficionados, strategy consultants, and so on. Our events feature short talks from transformation experts intermingled with nibbles and networking. Topics cover both the basics and the complexities, with a particular focus on practical lessons learned. Occurring roughly every 2 months, Digital Transformation Perth's events are free to attend and open to everyone. Thank you to the group's co-organisers and supporters, JourneyOne and Realising-Potential, and to our regular host: Spacecubed.

  • Fantastic energy from the DTP community this week for our latest meetup: Problem Solving for Our Public Sector. We brought back our interactive style and had a full-house of problem-solvers come together to brainstorm some very real challenges faced by WA’s public sector. As well as being a fun event with plenty of new connections and networking, this was a genuinely impactful session. Our friends at the WA Public Sector Innovation Network compiled three scenarios for us and were on-hand to provide context and take on board the DTP community’s great insights and ideas. Your contributions were truly valuable to the WAPSIN team, and we humbly thank each and every one of you for participating 👏 A huge thank you also goes to our brilliant Table Leads and SMEs: mike fuller, Kye Cherian, Lesley Bremner Bell, Ben Jones, Juanita Prestianni, and Daniel Buhagiar. This was the last meetup in our main 2024 series of events, but we will be back one more time this year for a special celebratory event on Wednesday 11th December: Beyond the Keyboard—Unseen Opportunities in Business & Tech. This event has been created by Women in Architecture (WIA) Australia and IT Girls Rock. Some of you may remember that DTP worked with WIA for a couple of events back in 2023, so we’re excited to collaborate with them once again. The registration link can be found down below in the comments. We hope to see some of you there! --- A final thank you goes to our sponsor JourneyOne and our venue supporter Spacecubed.   #perthevents #perthnetworking #digitaltransformation

  • We could create an entire DTP conference based on the amount of discussion last night! A huge thank you goes to our panellists: 🔹Kevin Pfleger, Director, Biomedical and Health Innovation at The University of Western Australia and WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub 🔹Kate Lewkowski, CEO and Co-Founder, Neurotologix 🔹John Konstantopoulos, Co-Founder and Executive – Commercial and Strategy, Artrya Ltd 🔹Intan Oldakowska, CEO and Co-Founder, Earflo If you joined us – what were your highlights? Would you like to see more sector-specific events? Let us know in the comments. For those who missed it, our topic was How WA's Innovators are Transforming Health: AI, Algorithms and Devices. This was an eye-opening panel discussion that lifted the lid on how much innovative work is going on here in Perth, while also highlighting how challenging the sector is to work in. Here is just a taster of the points addressed by our panellists: 🔹A huge amount of data is required for developing AI-based healthcare solutions, but sometimes that data is flawed, biased or unavailable due to historical inequality in research efforts. 🔹The high regulatory burden for people working in this space is crucial, but its complexity should not be underestimated. 🔹There are real people behind the data. When applying your learnings in your solutions, you must consider the potential consequences for individuals who might base important decisions (e.g., whether to seek treatment) on your recommendations or responses. 🔹With healthcare now sitting at one third of the state's budget, intelligent solutions are needed to deliver better service to an ageing population. The MedTech sector is growing and plays an important part of effective and efficient healthcare delivery in the future. Reach out to the panellists if you would like to know more or get involved. DTP's next event will be on Wednesday 23rd October. Mark your calendars and watch this space!   #perthevents #perthnetworking #digitaltransformation #medtech

Jacob delved into the world of AI and low code, to outline a ground up approach to transformation through empowering people with tools to help them innovate and improve the way they perform their roles. We learnt of some common mistakes and learnings from recent digital transformations, alternative strategies to transform, and how AI and low code can fit into this.  Jacob shared how you can use AI and low code together via some pragmatic examples to deliver rapid time to value, the recipe for a successful ground up transformation, and what the future holds for these technologies in the role of digital transformation. The slides have been shared with DTP members which includes Jacob’s recommended reading and tutorials for starting your journey in low code and AI.
