Sometimes you have to go outside the realms of #PowerBI to create a powerful data visualisation tool. The Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CCMA) #environmental flows webtool has recently been updated based on the new Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) WMIS API. Built largely using JavaScript, the tool presents real-time data from across CCMA's gauges and systems, and presents it in a dynamic way to visualise water quantity and water quality variables. We can now have interactive Points, Lines and Polygons in the #Azure Map visual in #PowerBI using a GeoJSON or WKT reference layer (which allows multi-type spatial data)! While we've had this capability for a long time in #IconMap, this opens up so much potential for those #PowerBI users who are relying on core visuals. I think it still needs a bit more work (especially enabling auto-zoom for reference layers)...but it's a great improvement. What are your thoughts? #DataDiscoverEI
