Milestone Achieved.   The Albany Bayonet Head pressure main project for the Water Corporation reached a significant milestone on November 23rd. With DM Civil support, our trusted subcontractor, Kier Contracting, successfully completed their scope of works, installing 4,000m of 355mm and 450mm HDPE piping by horizontal directional drilling in just 100 days. This achievement required precision and expertise to overcome challenges, including wet weather traffic control on arterial roads with residents on both sides, low-hanging power lines, water-charged mixed ground conditions with rock, and protection of existing fragile infrastructure.   DM Civil and KIER Contracting have a proven track record of successful collaboration on critical infrastructure projects, showcasing the value of experienced teams working together to deliver results. #dmcivil #infrastructure #HDPE #horizontaldrilling

The DM Civil workshop team has just commissioned two brand-new 9-tonne swivel dump trucks into our plant and machinery fleet. These machines are invaluable for transferring trench spoil and clean backfill material to and from the production front, especially in tight work corridors. They enhance efficiency in materials handling and offer a vital boost to safety standards in urban and congested work environments. Big Effort at the Big Dig by DM Civil The DM Civil team made a remarkable impact at this year’s Big Dig event, organised by zero2hero to raise vital funds and awareness for youth mental health—a pressing issue within the civil construction and mining industries. Special thanks to DM Civil’s directors for providing start-up funding for the event and to our dedicated excavation crew—Richard, Tessa, and Russell—who worked tirelessly alongside feature appearances from Ryan, Bronsan, Anuja, and Randy, adding energy and enthusiasm to the day. We are incredibly grateful to Dave Della Bona for facilitating access to the WA Limestone Mandogalup pit, and to Bunji Australia for their generous donation of 500 meters of crowd fencing, which was essential to the event’s success. Above all, a huge acknowledgment goes to Goran, the heart and soul of this initiative since its inception. Tesmec Trenching Rock Saw Hire Our Tesmec TRS1475 and TRS1300 Super trenchers have successfully completed their rock trenching campaigns in a Class A reserve for our valued client. They’ve now arrived at the Burrup Peninsula and will soon be trucked back to our Perth base for a comprehensive strip down and overhaul. Operated and maintained by our skilled DM Civil team, these machines have been working continuously since February, tackling hard rock trenching. In our workshop, we will thoroughly inspect every component, service the engines and air conditioning, fine-tune the hydraulics, and reinstate all hard-facing. Once serviced, both machines will be ready for wet hire on their next hard ground campaign. #trencherhire #dmcivil #tesmec

🏆 Award Winner 🏆 DM Civil is thrilled to announce our win at the Civil Contractors Federation WA 2024 WA Earth Awards for Excellence in Civil Construction, securing the top spot in the $10-30 million project value category for our work on the East Perth Power Station Pipeline. The project involved constructing a 7.5km high-pressure steel gas pipeline for ATCO Gas, running through Bayswater and Dianella as part of the East Perth Power Station redevelopment. Despite numerous challenges, including design changes, groundwater issues, working in built-up residential and industrial areas, and coordinating with other major infrastructure projects, and along the busy Grand Promenade, our team successfully delivered a project of the highest quality. This award highlights the incredible effort of our internal team, whose dedication and hard work ensured the project's success. We are also grateful to our subcontractors, especially KIER Contracting, for their expertise in horizontal directional drilling. Finally, a sincere thank you to ATCO Gas for trusting us with their largest pipeline project in Australia to date, despite being a relatively new contractor for them.
