Are you tired of being tired? That was me 2–3 years ago, and especially this year. Perimenopause had me at my lowest—exhausted, overwhelmed, and feeling like I had lost control of my own body. I was stuck in a cycle of fatigue, brain fog and frustration. But instead of letting it define me, I made a decision: I was going to fight back, one step at a time. I started my triathlon journey in 2013. Before that, the last time I cycled was in high school, and I only began running in 2012. I couldn’t swim and had to take adult swimming lessons to conquer my fear of the ocean and panic attacks. But little by little, I built the skills and confidence to take on triathlons. I completed open-water swims, long-distance cycling, and even Busselton IM70.3 in 2019. Then life—and menopause—happened. In 2020, I hit pause on triathlons. But now, I’m hitting play again. Busselton 100 in May 2025 is my comeback! 💪 So... what changed? I chose to stop making excuses and take action. I shifted my mindset to focus on becoming 1% better every day—just small, consistent steps. I leaned on my community of inspiring women and endurance athletes, and I reconnected with what brings me joy: swimming, cycling, running, and the pure thrill of chasing my goals. As a 2025 Busselton Festival of Triathlon Ambassador, my goal is to inspire women 50 and beyond to reclaim their power. Menopause doesn’t have to define us—it’s just one chapter of our story. Let’s write the next chapter together! I’m deeply honoured to be an ambassador for this incredible event, surrounded by like-minded people who believe in pushing limits and embracing life. I’m here to connect, inspire, and share this journey with you all. 🌟 Thinking of joining the Busselton Festival of Triathlon? Are you a woman 40 and above, or maybe even 74+ and still keeping up with your mammograms? That’s fantastic! But here’s a question: Do you know your breast density? Breast density matters because it directly affects how your mammogram is read. For women with dense breast tissue, some lumps can “hide” and may not show up on a mammogram alone. It’s a bit like those “Where’s Wally?” diagram—some things are harder to find depending on what’s around them! Dense breasts have more glandular and fibrous tissue compared to fatty breasts, making it challenging for mammograms to detect all potential lumps. Imagine trying to spot a snowball in a snowstorm—tricky, right? This is why breast ultrasound and 3D mammography are crucial, especially when supported by advanced density scoring and specialized imaging technology. At Women's and Breast Imaging Cottesloe and Murdoch, we prioritise giving you complete clarity about your breast health by offering: 1️⃣ 3D Mammography – Designed to capture layers of tissue, providing a clearer picture for those with dense breasts. 2️⃣ Volpara Density Scoring – An objective and accurate density score that helps us understand your unique breast tissue and tailor your imaging plan. 3️⃣ High-Resolution, Advanced Breast Ultrasound – Performed by our highly skilled and dedicated breast sonographers, trained specifically to assess dense breast tissue accurately. This is important because specialised breast sonographers understand the nuances of dense tissue and can detect lumps that may otherwise go unnoticed. Being proactive and advocating for your breast health can make a big difference. After your mammogram, ask your GP or healthcare provider about your breast density and whether an ultrasound might be right for you. Let’s ensure that no stone—or lump—is left unturned in your breast health journey. ✨ Take control of your breast health today! Book your 3D mammogram and breast ultrasound at WBI in Cottesloe or Murdoch, and know exactly where you stand. 👉 Share this with someone who could benefit, and let’s support each other in prioritising proactive breast health. #WBICottesloe #WBIMurdoch #BreastDensityAwareness #3DMammogram #BreastUltrasound #DenseBreastTissue #VolparaDensityScore #BreastHealthMatters #WomensHealth #AdvocateForYourHealth

In November 2019, I met a woman I’d admired from afar for so long: Karen Gee. Walking into that room, knowing I'd finally meet her, was surreal. I'd been inspired by her journey, achievements, and her unwavering commitment to empowering women. But never in my wildest dreams did I imagine this moment would alter my life's course. For years, I'd been searching for my own tribe—a group of women who uplift, encourage, and believe in each other. I knew it was out there, but I didn't know where to look or how to find it. Meeting Karen was the spark. She not only welcomed me into her world, but she also helped create something much larger than I’d ever anticipated. She created the Global Girls WhatsApp group, a space where women around the world connect, support, and celebrate each other's journeys. This group transformed into something incredible—Global Girls Anthology book, a book of stories from women across the globe. Never did I think I’d become an author. But with Karen Gee’s vision and Karen Weaver's guidance, I was given a voice, a platform, and a chance to share my story. Suddenly, I wasn't just part of a group—I was part of a movement. The Global Girls Anthology taught me the power of finding your tribe and what it truly means when women support women. LESSONS LEARNED: ✨ The people you surround yourself with can either limit or lift you. Finding like-minded women transformed my path. ✨ I’d never imagined writing in a book. Sometimes, the most unexpected opportunities bring the greatest growth. ✨ Women lifting each other up can create life-changing impacts. Together, we rise higher. Today, I celebrate the power of community and the incredible women who push us to become our best selves. Thank you, Karen Gee, for being the catalyst of this journey and for empowering so many. To everyone reading this: Find your tribe, step into your power, and don’t be afraid to tell your story. Who’s the one person who’s made an impact in your life? Tag them below, and let’s celebrate them. 💪✨ What Gives Me Joy: Day 15/100 #100daysofgratitude #Gratitude #WomenEmpoweringWomen #GlobalGirls #FindYourTribe #Leadership #WomenInspiringWomen #JourneyToEmpowerment #GlobalGirlsAnthology #AuthorJourney #KarenGee #WomenSupportingWomen

✨ Do you ever feel like life’s challenges are just too overwhelming? ✨ For years, I struggled to balance my career as a doctor, being a mom, and building a business from scratch. On top of all that, I faced my own internal battles—staying resilient, holding onto faith, and finding joy even during the toughest times. Through countless obstacles, I learned that resilience is a practice—a continuous journey of self-mastery and faith. Confronting setbacks and choosing joy has been the driving force behind everything I do. And now, this journey of mine is finally taking shape in the form of my memoir, Ligaya: How Faith and Self-Mastery Transformed My Life. Throwing it back to when I met my incredible book mentor, Grace Harris, during the 2022 ABLE Authors Book Launch and Expo in Melbourne. After almost 18 months of working together to bring this book to life, I was thrilled to catch up with her again recently in Brisbane. Thanks to Grace’s mentorship, I’m now just a few steps away from sharing Ligaya with you all—a book shaped by resilience, faith, and the pursuit of inner joy. If you’re interested in learning more, please visit https://lnkd.in/g5mXFhT7 💖 Let’s embrace joy and resilience together! 🌟 My Champion, My Partner: A Tribute to the Man Behind My Dreams 🌟 Nineteen years ago, I arrived in Australia with a vision: a one-year fellowship in interventional radiology, after which I’d return home to Manila, determined to become the first female interventional radiologist in the Philippines. But life had another plan. In March 2005, just two months into my journey, I met a man who changed everything. He proposed in June 2005, we married in November, and together, we built a life I could have never imagined. Through his steadfast support, I’ve been able to pursue my dreams, pushing boundaries, creating and achieving more than I’d ever dreamed possible. His unwavering patience, encouragement, and belief in me have allowed me to stand tall and shine in my career while he stands beside me, making it all possible. This incredible man isn’t just my husband—he’s my best friend, my partner, my safe haven, my laughter, and my calm. He’s also the most loving dad to our two teenage children. Whether he’s being “uber dad,” supportive dad, or fur dad, he brings such heart and humour into every moment. He’s an anchor for our family, reminding us to stay grounded while encouraging us to reach for the stars. But to simply call him my partner doesn’t capture all he is. He’s an engineer and a project planner with an artist’s soul—a musician, maestro, conductor, and organist who infuses beauty into everything he does. His multi-talented spirit is the force behind our beautiful WBI Murdoch—a project he brought to life from the ground up. Every detail, from the floor plan to the interior design, wallpaper, and furnishings, reflects his vision and creativity, creating a space that wows everyone who steps inside. Through every milestone, challenge, and victory, I am beyond blessed to have a husband whose heart is open and whose love is unshakable. I thank God for this extraordinary man who chooses to champion my dreams while building his own. Here’s to you, my love—my partner in everything. Happy anniversary to us, Glenn! 🥰 What Gives Me Joy: Day 13/100 #AnniversaryAppreciation #MyPartnerInLife #WBI #GratefulHeart #LoveAndDreams #FamilyFirst #BehindEveryDream
