We’ve recently celebrated five years of Ediom, taking the time to reflect on our journey, growth, and how we can continue to provide valuable services for clients. We’re excited to introduce our new logo as part of a brand refresh that captures our identity and aligns with our evolution at this 5-year milestone. Our logo represents how Ediom connects, translates, and integrates technical information to drive ultimate project success. The interlocking E shapes symbolise our team's unity and our innovative approach to tackling challenges from multiple angles. In true Ediom form, we invited our entire team, along with their families to participate in the design process, ensuring our logo truly reflects the heart of Ediom. We recognise that our people are our brand! Check out our redesigned website, where you can discover who we are and explore our Engineering Management, Systems Engineering & Safety Assurance, and Strategic & Technical Leadership services. www.ediom.com.au

Ediom had the privilege of attending the Systems Engineering Test and Evaluation (SETE24) Conference this year's event, themed “Advancing in an Emergent Digital World.” Ediom’s Parth Thakur presented on "Cost-Effective Systems Engineering: Exploration of Tools for Systems Engineers on a Budget," shedding light on practical solutions for navigating the challenges of systems engineering within financial constraints. The conference provided a valuable transdisciplinary forum for networking and sharing best practices in engineering complex capabilities. Well done to Aaron Miles for leading the stream on "Tailoring: Frameworks and Applications"—his insights were invaluable and very much align with Ediom’s pragmatic and tailored approach to SESA! We’re committed to exploring the interplay between systems engineering and the digital world, always keeping our clients front of mind as we deliver innovative solutions across projects in transport, water, and renewables.

Nothing like a 5th birthday to drive some celebration and a little reflection! So what to celebrate; an outstanding team of people who regularly go above and beyond to support our clients and each other. We know they have made a meaningful difference to many project outcomes. Reflection is always a little trickier! But in short, when I get asked what we have done to successfully get to this point; · A strategy that intentionally focuses on what we do well - managing the technical interface on projects (it may appear to be a black art but it’s not!) · Great implementation – as we all know if you don’t deliver on what you promise, you’re toast. We never take for granted the many long term clients we have and know we need to continue to deliver every day. · And last but certainly not least – put your people first as they are all you really have. I can’t decide whether this is a foundation of the two above or a multiplier (either way it is a fundamental amplifier!). Terry Cotton and I have managed to surround ourselves with a smart, diverse and driven bunch of humans who truly deliver on Ediom values. I still struggle even after decades in the industry to silence the little voice in me that whispers that this is nothing but a fluke but I am also experienced enough to know we must be doing something right and deeply appreciative that I get to do a job that gives me so much. #TechnicalTranslators
Ediom turns five today. We know, we can’t believe it either but time flies when you’re having fun! We've grown to a team of almost 40 professionals contributing across Transport, Renewables, and Water in multiple states and territories. It has been incredibly rewarding to see that Ediom’s original vision to provide Technically Knowledgeable Management, with team members who focus on communicating and managing these risks and opportunities, is resonating with our clients. We remain passionate about what we do, providing Engineering Management, Systems Engineering & Safety Assurance, and Strategic Technical Leadership services. We believe that bringing the right people and skills to projects can truly transform outcomes for the better and we’re enormously proud to have built a team who are as committed to this as Terry Cotton and Georgina Mahony were from the first day of Ediom. A huge thank you to our brilliant clients and supporters. We’re excited about the future and can’t wait to continue working with you all. Stay tuned for some exciting developments ahead!

We are excited to welcome two new members to our team! Mac Lam is a Systems Safety Engineer with experience in systems safety across defence and rail and is an excellent collaborator who integrates different perspectives to deliver pragmatic, outcome-focused work. Appreciating human-centred design and life-cycle thinking, Mac considers for the bigger picture when approaching new challenges. Patrick Lachal joins us as an Undergraduate from Monash University as part of their Co-Op Program. Patrick is a third-year Civil Engineering and Commerce student with a keen interest in infrastructure projects. With a strong foundation in technical skills and a talent for clear communication, Patrick is eager to apply his capabilities as a technical translator, bridging the gap between complex engineering concepts and practical applications.

Ediom is proud to be a part of NAWIC VICTORIA 's CEO Shadow Program, recognising high-achieving women in the construction industry, enabling visibility and pathways to leadership within the industry. We’re especially proud of our Engineering Manager, Fiona Adams who was selected as a participant, alongside Georgina Mahony who participated as a Senior Leader. This program is a fantastic platform to foster collaboration, and champion the future of women in construction. Thanks to NAWIC for organising yet another impactful program!
On Monday NAWIC VIC launched the CEO Shadow Program which aims to de-mystify the role of a CEO and help “plant the seed” for members to consider more senior leadership roles. We would like to thank Webuild for sponsoring the program. A big shout out to all the Senior Leaders who have agreed to participate in the program, in no particular order: Marco Assorati, Benita Husband, Michelle Nation, Stephen Villella, Sarah Tozer, Craig Nuttall, Amanda Miles, Steve Johnson and Georgina Mahony. Best of luck to the nine Shadowees for the 2024 program: Barbara Cooper, Rachael Lee, Nicola K., Fiona Adams, Sunny Kalidas, Rebecca Gerrish, Sue Loo, Renée Egglestone and Nadia Arkoudis.
