  • 🌐 Contract Management vs. Contract Administration: Key Differences 🌐 In Emerson Health's recent Fireside Session, Alicia asked Matthew Armour from ProcureSpot and Bidio.ai to break down the difference between contract management and contract administration. Here's what he said: 🔹 Contract Management is about relationship and performance management, focusing on the bigger picture—managing costs, overseeing performance and reporting, handling disputes and variations, and driving innovation and continuous improvement. It’s about nurturing the partnership and ensuring that the contract’s goals are met. 🔹 Contract Administration, on the other hand, handles day-to-day operational tasks: accounts payable and receivable, timesheet control, data collection, report writing, and resourcing. This is the logistical backbone that keeps everything running smoothly. Yes, he was the absolute font of procurement knowledge! • How can you leverage your procurement strategy for impact? Here's a snippet from our October '24 Fireside Session, where we sat down with Matthew Armour from ProcureSpot and Bidio.ai to discuss how procurement strategies can be designed to build real, lasting value. We spoke briefly about proof of concepts as one potential approach: 🔹 By focusing on specific outcomes—like improved user experience or system efficiency— proof of concepts can aligns supplier incentives with government performance requirements, and shifting the focus from inputs or features to measurable results. 🔹 Defined success metrics: A well-designed proof of concept includes clear outcomes, such as usability, system integration success, and scalability. These metrics are critical in ensuring that suppliers commit to delivering value and measurable results from the start. 🔹 Gateway to a longer term relationship: Achieving results in the proof of concept phase can pave the way to signing a longer-term contract with confidence, as a supplier has already demonstrated their ability to meet expectations and drive value. Matthew’s approach underscores a critical shift in procurement strategy: aligning supplier goals with measurable outcomes enhances accountability and fosters sustainable partnerships. • AI’s Game-Changing Role in Procurement In our most recent Fireside Session, Alicia Cook had the privilege of interviewing Matthew Armour from ProcureSpot and Bidio.ai. She asked him about the most interesting procurement applications for AI - and was surprised to hear that 83% of Matthew's clients—who regularly bid for government contracts — expressed their support for government using AI to support tender evaluation processes. This level of acceptance highlights AI’s potential to improve decision-making by increasing objectivity and reducing biases in procurement. • I'm really looking forward to speaking with Jocelyn Brewer at our next Fireside Session in early August. We'll be exploring digital burnout and the right to disconnect - discussing practical guidance for individuals as well as what organisations should consider at the big picture level too. As always, we take questions from guests during the registration process, so if this topic resonates with you please reserve your seat.

Just wrapping up the conversation guide for this week's Fireside Session with Kerryn Butler-Henderson, talking about digital health capability. It's going to be a great conversation where we cover workforce, building capacity, career, digital models of care, information management, and maybe a bit of AI 😉 Here's a taste of what I'll be asking Kerryn: 1. How do we build skills and confidence across the workforce to support digital health readiness, especially for those folks who might not feel very IT savvy? 2. What sort of digital health learning opportunities are there for the folks based in country regions? 3. What can I teach myself, and what do I need to learn in a more formal way? We have just FOUR SPOTS LEFT and I'd ❤️❤️❤️ it if I could also make a "Sold Out" announcement before Thursday. Registration link is in the comments 😁

  • This morning, Emerson, of Emerson Health fame, was featured in The Guardian, discussing his experiences in the education system. As she read him the article, he told his mother, Alicia Cook, that he is so very proud of that rabbit sitting on his shoulder, Jellycat, for his first ever public appearance. Please join his equally proud mother in appluading Jellycat’s bravery, and if you share a desire for a world where bravery like this is no longer necessary, please like and share with your networks.

This is a very long article, but the message I hope you receive, is that inclusive education is actually good for everyone. And the federal-state governance silos across disability, education and health must to be genuinely dissolved to enable the youth of today and tomorrow to realise their fundamental human rights. The prevalence of neurodivergence is only going to increase; the current state of affairs is disasterous for our national productivity, and there is an uprising of voices chanting for change. https://lnkd.in/gxNCDVwU
