Yesterday we celebrated a very full 2024 together as a team. We laughed our way through an Italian cooking class and particularly excelled at the feasting part. It is such a pleasure to be able to work with people that bring each other joy everyday. #ehccooks #celebration

We are excited to be at the stage of sharing key findings from The Priority Project pilot evaluation with a broad audience from the housing and domestic and family violence services and from the real estate sector. It has been fantastic to engage with so many dedicated stakeholders and reflect on the meaningful impact achieved during the pilot phase. A special thank you to Mission Australia and The Salvation Army, the founding partners of The Priority Project, and to Tracey Delaney, Sally-Anne Clark, Janet Maher, Nicole Peterman GAICD, Elizabeth Lowe, Sharleena Bramley, Jocelyn Harrison, and Laura Valenti, whose support for the evaluation has been invaluable. It has been a privilege to observe your continued dedication to the ongoing success of this initiative. While the evaluation is wrapping up, the insights and outcomes pave the way for exciting opportunities ahead. We look forward to seeing this momentum grow and the impact continue and to sharing more findings with you in the future.

Last week we were back in Toowoomba to work with the wonderful Toowoomba Regional Council staff on the evaluation of The CHANGE project. This “Validation Workshop” saw us talk through the draft findings together and we allowed space for us to collectively interpret them and consider the recommendations that could come from this evaluation. The depth of engagement in this evaluation from community has been next level! And we’re so grateful to be able to work alongside the Council to really unpack what the community are telling us. These workshops are important to our ehc process of sense-making and we’re really enjoying the process with Toowoomba Regional Council. Stay tuned for more to come 😊 #evaluation #healthpromotion #healthandwellbeing

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting a 2-hour interactive workshop led by our brilliant PhD placement student, Hannah O'Connor! 🎓✨ Her session on the use of #AI in research was engaging, insightful, and equipped us with new tools to explore. 🙌 In addition, we came together for our semi-annual ehc eats – Italian style. It truly was a day of knowledge, collaboration, and culinary delights, as we celebrated not just as colleagues, but as friends. 💙 From Hannah's refreshing melon and prosciutto salad, Brianna's classic spaghetti alla puttanesca, Tayla's zesty blood orange soda, and to Kathryn's decadent caramel budino – every dish reflected the creativity, precision, and thoughtfulness that define our work every day! Here’s to more learning, meals, and memories that keep us inspired and connected🎉 #artificialintelligence #Technology #Motivation #Innovation

Last week we held space for a validation workshop for The Priority Project pilot evaluation. This session was all about gathering insights from those closest to the project, and understanding how our data analysis and interpretation can reach the right audiences. A huge thank you to the dedicated project stakeholders - Tracey Delaney, Nicole Peterman GAICD, Elizabeth Lowe, Sharleena Bramley, Janet Maher - for their time, feedback, and expertise. We’re excited to build off their insights in the final report and share the findings soon.

It has been an honour to work alongside the team at Yarra City Council to prepare the Yarra Health and Wellbeing Profile. This Profile is a step towards the Council developing the new agenda for the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2026-2030. In addition to the excellent surveillance data available for LGA's in Victoria, Yarra has collected their own Social Indicators Survey data with their community this year. We were able to interpret these data sources and to tell a clear narrative about the strengths and challenges faced by the people of Yarra. Beyond just describing the health and wellbeing indicators of the community, we talked about the environmental, social, lifestyle and demographic determinants of health and wellbeing and how these were particularly important for priority population groups within Yarra. We loved this project and feel privileged to support one part of Yarra's journey to their next health and wellbeing plan.

We are thrilled to announce that we are partnering with Queensland Health's Queensland Women and Girls Health Promotion Program Team to build the evidence base of how they will work towards transformative health promotion action for Queensland women and girls as part of the Queensland Women and Girls' Health Strategy 2032. Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of visiting Melissa Rowland and Paul Vardon for a planning workshop, where we began laying the groundwork for the project. Our focus will be on reviewing best practices for transformative initiatives tailored to priority populations identified in the Queensland Women and Girls’ Health Strategy 2032. Many of our ehc team have a particular passion about working in women's health, so it's exciting to be working on this influential and innovative project. If anyone out there has a resource or paper around transformative health promotion work in the gendered space, then please reach out and let us know ☺️
