In the national electricity market (NEM), power supply and demand are matched simultaneously. Electricity supplied by generators must exactly match how much electricity is being used by consumers, or there is a risk of blackouts. The spot market helps manage that supply and demand of electricity. Currently under construction, our Yuri project will be one of the world’s first industrial-scale renewable hydrogen projects when completed. The Goorambat East Solar Farm is an exciting development for ENGIE in Australia, and it is currently the largest solar farm under construction in Victoria.  Once complete, the asset will: - Feature up to 500,000 Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels  - Power up to 105,000 average Victorian homes; and  - Help displace up to 558,000 tonnes of co₂ emissions each year.  Below is an artist’s rendition of the solar farm once constructed.  Find out more about the project: https://lnkd.in/gJyWrggN #Goorambat #Solar #ENGIE #WithENGIE 

The construction of the Canunda Wind Farm was one of the first steps on our journey towards net zero by 2045. Commissioned in March 2005, Canunda Wind Farm has been a cornerstone of renewable energy for nearly two decades. Located just south of Millicent in South Australia, it boasts a high wind yield, producing electricity 34% of the time—an impressive figure by global standards. A key question arises: after twenty years, how much longer can the wind farm continue to operate? The good news is that a recent end-of-life/life extension assessment has determined that Canunda’s design life can be extended by another 10 years, pushing its operational lifespan to 2035.  This extension means ten more years of clean energy for South Australia’s grid and continued contributions to ENGIE’s renewable energy goals. #ENGIE #WithENGIE

At the end of last year, we celebrated five years since the Commercial operation date (COD) of our Willogoleche Wind Farm outside of Hallett, South Australia. With 32 turbines and a combined generation capacity of 119MW, the wind farm has the capability of powering approximately 80,000 homes across the state. At the time, Willogoleche was the first onshore wind farm in the world to install and commission GE’s 3.8MW turbines at scale, and its 130m rotor blades which can operate through a range of wind speeds, allowing ENGIE to maximise the capacity of each turbine.
