Add your voice - which is the most exciting electrified ute in the market? 👋🏼👇🏼
It was pretty exciting to see the new BYD Australia & New Zealand Shark 🦈 and GWM Australia & New Zealand Cannon Alpha PHEV - as they both have a solid EV only range of >100 kilometres, which is key - now the question is how the market responds! With PHEV looking almost certain to drop off the FBT exemption clause for EVs in March 2025, does this mean there's gonna be a rush to sell as many as possible before full BEV takes over, such as the NEW LDV Automotive Australia eTERRON 9 Ute (also fantastic in-person)? Well, not so fast - I've made that mistake myself. Seeing that there's already an FBT exemption (cond. apply) for light commercial vehicles used for trade, we're gonna see plenty of ICE, HEVs, PHEV, and BEVs for many years to come. Let's hope a sharply increasing share are PHEVs or better yet BEVs! A new peak renewable generation record of 73.87% was set today for the half-hour ending 11:30am in the National Electricity Market (NEM). At the time, generation across the NEM consisted of rooftop solar 43.7%, grid-scale solar 19.7%, wind 8.5%, hydro 1.6%, other 0.4% and non-renewables 26.1%. AEMO is working with industry to harness more renewable energy, including removing the technical constraints through our 'engineering roadmaps', for the benefit of Australian homes and businesses.
