Enterprise Ireland’s End of Year Results for 2024 have just been announced, confirming that total employment at companies supported by the agency increased to a record 234,454 last year, with 15,741 new jobs created. Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Peter Burke highlighted the significance of this achievement: “It is hugely positive to see Enterprise Ireland supported companies recording job growth for the fourth year in a row. 2024 was a challenging year for some sectors of exporting Irish businesses with high interest rates and international instability impacting business performance, so to record significant employment growth is even more impressive.” Leo Clancy, CEO, Enterprise Ireland added, “I am delighted to announce that 2024 was another strong year with our client companies creating 15,741 new jobs and growing net employment by 3%. 2024 marks the final year of Enterprise Ireland’s three-year strategy ‘Leading in a Changing World’ and we can confirm that our client companies have overachieved on our key targets to create 45,000 new jobs by 2024 and increase exports to €30bn." In other exciting news, Enterprise Ireland Irish medtech client Aerogen also announced details of a €300 million transformational scaling and investment plan, which will result in the creation of 725 new jobs in Ireland over the next 10 years. ☘️💻 Spotlighting Innovation from Ireland ☘️💻 Ireland continues to lead the charge in innovation, with another two remarkable startups breaking new ground in space technology and sustainable data solutions. Irish startup NEXALUS is revolutionising how data centres manage heat and energy. Its innovative liquid-cooling system not only allows for more servers to be packed into smaller spaces - saving on real estate and construction costs - but also turns waste heat into a potentially valuable resource. Nexalus’s solution offers another significant advantage: reduced water usage, which is crucial for data centres that typically rely heavily on air conditioning systems. This breakthrough positions Nexalus as a game-changer in sustainability for tech infrastructure. The company’s name, “Réaltra” (Irish for "galaxy"), reflects its ambitious vision of creating low-cost, innovative electronic systems for space applications. This ESA partnership reinforces Réaltra’s role as a key player in the rapidly evolving space tech sector. In Ireland, January 6th is known as Nollaig na mBan (pronunced Null-ig na Mon), which can be translated from Irish as "Women's Christmas," where Irish women traditionally got together to have a celebration with their friends. It seems fitting to share a quote from Rosie Keane, Consul General of Ireland at the Embassy of Ireland, Australia & Consulate General of Ireland (New South Wales) highlighting the powerful influence of Irish women abroad on the diaspora. Although Ireland’s population is just 7 million, the global Irish diaspora spans 70 million, including trailblazing women who are shaping the future of business and paving the way for others to follow. #EnterpriseIreland #GlobalAmbition #GenderBalance #WomenInBusiness #DiversityAndInclusion #LevelProject
