  • We are so grateful for our dear friends Jason and Paulina Smith and can't wait to read their brand new book, 'Unlikely' - the surprising personal story behind the garage startup that became a $100m national health brand - Jason T. Smith

Such a privilege to be at the launch and part of this 'Unlikely' story. He's on the front cover - but it's their story. Thank you for the witness of your lives Jason and Paulina - can't wait to read the book which I already know is gritty, raw and real. Cheering you on! Get your copy: https://lnkd.in/ge7hf8-6

  • These are just some of the reasons we are thrilled Moses Lim has joined our Board of Directors. He brings so much to the table and embodies servant leadership. "I am excited to join the board of Entrust Foundation because of their commitment to reaching the hardest-to-reach places and empowering local organisations in remote communities. This approach ensures that real, sustainable change comes from within, addressing systemic challenges and strengthening community resilience. I am equally passionate about Entrust's focus on fostering the next generation of impact leaders through strategic partnerships, mentorship, and capacity building. By investing in local leaders, we create lasting, transformative change that extends far beyond immediate needs, ensuring that these communities continue to thrive long into the future." Moses is a socially impact-driven entrepreneur, founder, and advisor. Passionate about creating positive change, he focuses on fostering the growth and strategic development of start-ups, steering them from initiation to the growth phase through investment and advisory roles. Welcome Moses. We're so glad you're on the team!

𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 & 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗕𝗡𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 #𝟰) This is Moses Lim. He's an entrepreneur, advisor, and catalyst for sustainable business growth. As a leader at Green Eco Technologies and advisor to multiple companies, Moses brings a wealth of experience in global market strategies, sustainability, and poverty alleviation through his work with the Entrust Foundation. During his discussion, Moses shared three profound insights that challenge conventional thinking in social impact investing: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: While businesses crave solid metrics to justify investments, Moses cautions that in social impact projects, the pursuit of quantifiable results can sometimes divert resources from the very beneficiaries we aim to help. It's a delicate balance between accountability and effective action. Cultivating Local Champions: "How do we identify and nurture local community leaders who can carry forward the work we start?" Moses poses this critical question, emphasizing the importance of sustainability in social projects. His answer? Align motives. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲. If your motives align, they'll be able to invest back into you or into other areas where differences can be made. Character: The Cornerstone of Leadership In the debate of competence vs. character, Moses firmly stands with the latter. Character over competence. You can help someone grow their competence, but it's harder to help grow character. His key traits that he looks for include: 💚 Servant Leadership 🕊 Peace-Seeking 🤝🏼 Reconciliation Skills Moses left a thought-provoking question that every social impact project should consider: "𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱?" It's a challenging question, but one that I believe is crucial for sustainable impact. As I return to my work, I'm carrying these insights with me, determined to find that delicate balance between serving our clients and truly empowering the communities we work with. #SocialImpact #SustainableBusiness #ImpactInvesting #LeadershipDevelopment #CommunityEmpowerment #ServantLeadership #PovertyAlleviation #GlobalStrategies #CharacterLeadership #SocialInnovation #TBNA #TBNAConference

  • Now this is something we can get behind! Justice systems are pivotal in development, as they tackle barriers to access to justice, a key aspect of poverty. They ensure fair societies, uphold fundamental rights, and promote accountability. By addressing breaches of law and facilitating peaceful resolution of disputes, they enable effective delivery of essential services such as education, health, and other social services. Entrust is encouraged to hear Prime Minister Albanese's announcement of a new $20 million investment to support the Philippines to reform, and improve access to, its justice system. With 7 million people living in abject poverty, surviving on less than US$0.50 per person per day, this is welcome news. Our local partners in the Philippines are committed to helping the ultra-poor through education, promotion of healthy living and empowerment through income generation and savings. The multitude of obstacles faced by impoverished individuals in accessing justice perpetuates a cycle of poverty, exclusion, and injustice. Empowering them to assert their rights through a stronger justice system is crucial in combating poverty and addressing widening global and national inequalities.
