Big News. In a surprising move to many of us, Amazon has announced the discontinuation of their Monitron Predictive Maintenance product. But don’t worry, there’s plenty of good news ahead. In 2007, the Austrian International Atomic Energy Agency uncovered that 33 cents of every dollar allocated to maintenance costs were squandered due to unnecessary maintenance. This can’t be true still today. Surely, we’ve improved. I think so. Certainly, there has been progress. But that figure likely remains too high even today. Part of the problem stems from the lack of data on asset health, making it challenging to align maintenance actions with the dollars invested in maintenance. This, in turn, contributes to waste and higher maintenance expenses. If you’re thinking about this problem, we can share with you how our customers are solving it. Maybe we should talk. #Predictivemaintenance #PdM

Today, we are thrilled to announce that John Broadbent is joining Factory AI as an advisor. Our collaboration with John has spanned almost a year, and his profound knowledge of digital transformations in manufacturing has consistently left us impressed. The only thing that matches his understanding of the challenges of today’s manufacturers is his passion and enthusiasm for the industry. With a career that commenced as a Mechanical Engineer for CSR in 1975, John brings an unparalleled 49 years (not a typo) of hard-earned experience to the table. In our countless conversations with industry leaders, Tim Cheung and I have yet to encounter someone with as much insight. We see John as the perfect addition to our team, given his dedicated focus on assisting today's manufacturers in achieving more with less through an Industry 4.0 approach—an alignment that resonates 100% with our vision. Clients appreciate his no-nonsense approach, providing them with tangible actions, and we find inspiration in that. Welcome to the team, John!
