Why Women Need To Change How They Move Into Menopause – The Sydney Morning Herald. "In the 13 years since Kirsten King opened her first Fluidform Pilates studio in Sydney, she’s seen that what once worked for clients no longer seems to be effective. “They need to be doing different types of exercise,” says King, who is in her 40s and launched an online program in June for women, with a focus on plyometrics and weight-bearing exercise. “If women feel strong and have those endorphins happening, they’re just in a better frame of mind.”" Thank you to Sarah Berry for bringing attention to the hormonal changes we experience as women through Perimenopause & Menopause, and the transformative impact of movement, when approached with purpose, in a more prescriptive way. https://lnkd.in/gfdR3z4h

Today marks the beginning of the annual Fluidform Your Body challenge on Fluidform at Home. Thousands of members have transformed their lives with the Fluidform Your Body 6-week method. This year, we introduce Strength for the first time on the platform, now offering three movement forms–Pilates, Boxing, Strength–for the ultimate mind and body transformation. Supported by a 6-week meal plan, stretch, relaxation and ongoing guide from a team of senior Fluidform instructors, this challenge has been proven to not just change bodies, but transform lives. Gillian, Fluidform at Home member and Fluidform Your Body challenge alumni, previously shared: "I am currently participating in your FFYB challenge and just wanted to express my gratitude for the program. I have been active my entire life and always exercised intensely up until my latest [knee injury]. A myriad of factors meant I was often left feeling depleted and constantly injured. Fluidform has filled that void. It is the only form of exercise in my later years that feels natural and I have looked forward to. One in which I am achieving results and have established a consistent and sustainable workout routine. I am now the fittest, healthiest, HAPPIEST and empowered version of myself. I was apprehensive that 20 minutes a day would be enough to create change and that perhaps Kirsten’s mantra of “changing lives” was an overreach. But I was happy to be proven wrong. The pilates, boxing and strength components of the challenge provided a perfectly varied, challenging and balanced program. You should be incredibly proud of what you have created and the impact it is having on people’s lives. I am achieving things that I had given up on. I feel taller, leaner, stronger, more toned and flexible. I had given up on my abdominals after post-children separation, but have been surprised to have subtle definition in this area. My body awareness and posture have also improved. I am waking up with more energy and the pain in my neck and back is decreasing. The strength and stability in my core has made other forms of exercise and daily tasks noticeably easier. I have a renewed faith in myself. My husband has even commented on my progress. Fluidform has also been a cornerstone in my knee reconstruction recovery. The videos of Kirsten and Zach are knowledgeable, personable, professional and engaging. Kirsten has a wonderful energy and enthusiasm which is not only inspiring, but contagious." Good luck to all our members as they embark on the next 6-week journey.
