We’re excited to share with you the profile of Katarina Helena D., one of the speakers for the 2025 BioInnovation Festival! 👏 Katarina is a Lecturer and Researcher at The University of Western Australia, where she developed and delivered the new AQUAtech specialization within the MSc Biotechnology program. She is also a Lead Scientist responsible for redevelopment of research priorities and initiatives for the university’s Aquaculture and Native Fish Research Facility, leading to international research collaborations in aquaculture which focus on developing actionable solutions to improve thermal capacity in rainbow trout. Passionate about science communication, she actively engages in educating the public on sustainable food production and the impactful changes individuals can make in their daily lives. Her TEDx talk, "How we can feed the next 2 billion people," delves into these topics, offering insights into innovative solutions for future food security.
