The light the world Giving Machine has launched. How does it work? It’s super easy to use. All you have to do is choose something to give to someone in need. Each item or service is represented by a card, which drops from the machine with every purchase. The donor then has the option to scan a QR code to receive a tax-deductible receipt. 100% of purchases are donated straight to the charities. Come down to the Giving Machine in Westfield Manukau by count down and Give Back this Christmas Thank you so much to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Derek Good , Vending direct, Westfield manukau , all the volunteers, everyone involved to make it happen, and all of the amazing charities.❤️ #givingmachineauckland #givingback #charities #christmas The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Rob Campbell Fuatino Laban

More Chirpy bits from the Fundraising Nest this time from Maven and friend Sam Laprade, CFRE Our Chief Nester Michelle Berriman asked Sam Laprade, CFRE What advice would Sam give to her younger self? 'I would have learned about Queen Bee Syndrome. I didn't know about Queen Bee Syndrome 🐝 Do you know what that means? Queen Bee Syndrome is when, unfortunately, you work with someone, a woman who's older than you that tries to make your life difficult. I worked with a number of women that were, and I look back on it now and I realized they were threatened by me or they just felt like I needed to pay my dues. I had many, many women that were very good to me, do not misunderstand me. I had a lot of women that helped my career, but I had a few that stomped on it.... And there's a couple in particular that certainly caused me a lot of harm. And I'd really try every single day to lead 180 % differently than they did.'  Sam Laprade, CFRE Have you ever been stung by Queen Bee Syndrome ? 🐝 Watch the full conversation here ⏬ https://lnkd.in/gT5rHVJi Other takeaways you will learn about 👩🏫 Building a community and finding mentors is crucial in the fundraising profession. 📊 Fundraisers should adapt to changing trends and use data to inform their strategies. 📓 Professional development should be a priority for fundraisers, and leaders should support their team's growth. 🤖 AI has the potential to streamline fundraising processes and allow more time for donor interactions. 📜 Legacy giving is an important area of focus in fundraising.

In this episode we dive into the sometimes cringeworthy world of performative allyship. Join us as we unpack the difference of waving the DEI banner in fundraising while sometimes sidestepping the real, hard work of inclusion. 👊 Punchline: We have to be fearless in standing up to our leadership. If we want to be inclusive, what are we actually doing to help? Ask tough questions and start bringing these issues forward. Episode 20: Performative Allyship https://lnkd.in/e_nuctS2 Here’s how can support the show, and make sure you don’t miss out on any laughs this season: ✅ Subscribe to Fundraising is Funny wherever you listen to #podcasts ✅ Leave a review on your favorite podcast network We’d like to give special thanks to our presenting sponsors Bloomerang and DonorPerfect for underwriting this season so we could bring it to you for free, and to all of our additional sponsors at Wired Production Group, MSP Cultivate, Kindsight, Givebutter, and Storyraise. #nonprofitpodcasts #FundraisingIsFunny #podcastshow

🐥 More Chirpy tit bits, with the super talented Dr Cassandra Chapman Having come to academia with a background in nonprofit marketing, Dr Cassandra Chapman’s research focuses on the social psychology of charitable giving, effective and ethical fundraising, and charity scandals. She uses diverse methods to understand when and why donors are more (or less) willing to give to particular causes and the implications such preferences have for how charities communicate. Listen to what Dr Cassandra Chapman wants to help fundraisers focus on. 'What I'm really focused on at the moment is trying to really pitch this nuance to the fundraisers. And I know it's what they don't want to hear, but the fact that their best actions are going to be completely context dependent on their particular #organisation, on the particular #beneficiaries they serve. My idea is to teach fundraisers about how to think about what I call the charitable triad. Their #donors, their #beneficiaries, and their #fundraising #organisation and #staff and how each of those can influence #giving decisions. Because when they learn to think in that nuanced strategic way about their context, I think that they're going to be #targeting more appropriately, they're going to be #segmenting more appropriately, they're going to be increasing return on #investment all while reducing that broader donor #fatigue that's going on in the market.' Thank you Dr Cassandra Chapman for sharing your wisdom and knowledge. Watch out for more chirpy bits coming soon from Dr Cassandra Chapman on the Fundraising Nest channel. https://lnkd.in/gv6eJmP8

🐥 More common sense chirpy tit bits this time from Dominique Leeming. Organisations' go through a life cycle, and I think they always need to be ready to #evolve and #change because our #society and our #community is changing. Young organisations, can be #nimble, #innovative and #creative. And established organisation has very interesting thinkers too. All through your career, be willing to evolve in your thinking, don't ever get stuck 💥
