We’re working on a major system upgrade in collaboration with our valued partners at IT Connexions and were excited to get testing and implementing this tech onsite. This new system will streamline our onsite logistics processes enhancing the services we deliver our clients both pre, during and post event enhancing the onsite experience for all involved, exhibitors, stand builders, transport providers, venues, organisers and other stakeholders in our industry. Belinda’s love for Italian cuisine is undeniable (pasta lovers unite!), and she’s a proud supporter of the Mighty Melbourne Storm. Fun facts about Belinda: She used to act and sing when she was younger—though she retired “for everyone’s sake!” She’s always up for a new adventure, with Antarctica topping her bucket list. What a fantastic day at the Visual Connections Victorian Golf Day last month!  Held at the stunning Sandhurst Golf Club, the event was a celebration of teamwork and camaraderie, with players enjoying 18 holes in the Ambrose format. Congratulations to all the participants and the winning team from ExpoNet for their stellar performance on the day! The Golf Day was also an opportunity to honour the incredible career of Peter Harper, outgoing CEO of Visual Connections Australia, and his remarkable 50 years of service in the industry. Meet Heath Rego, the Senior Operations Manager at GEL Event Logistics! With an impressive 22 years in the events industry, Heath brings a wealth of experience to the team. When he’s not managing operations like a pro, you might find him riding his motorbike, gaming, or perfecting his latest 3D printing project. Heath’s also got a soft spot for Korean BBQ—his go-to cuisine! Fun facts about Heath: He’s a Fork the World Champion—not once, but twice (back-to-back in ’94/’95)! He admits to being afraid of deep water, thanks to Jaws. Hidden talents? Let’s just say, it wouldn't be hidden if he told us! Heath’s dream destination? Germany’s Nürburgring, where he hopes to ride the legendary racetrack. At GEL Event Logistics, we’ve made a commitment in 2024 to reduce our environmental impact, and we’re excited to share one of the ways we’re making a difference. One key area we identified for improvement was our use of shrink wrap. After extensive research, we partnered with Biogone to introduce environmentally friendly shrink wrap into the exhibition industry. We’re proud of this change because the shrink wrap we sourced is made from 30% recycled materials and when disposed via landfill it biodegrades 90% faster than conventional plastics, leaving behind no microplastics while producing a natural plant fertiliser. We believe small changes like this can have a big impact on our planet.
