Genea is delighted to collaborate with the University of Adelaide and the Robinson Research Institute on a research project to optimise how we select the best sperm to use in IVF. Thanks to a three-year, $820,000 National Health and Medical Research Council Development Grant, the research will mimic natural processes in the female body, to produce a user-friendly, surface-engineered device that selects sperm with high DNA integrity to provide an enriched sperm sample to optimise each patient's chance for a successful outcome. Our very own Director of Research, Dr Nicole McPherson, will be an investigator on this project, with Genea providing clinical input and Beta prototype testing. #ReproductiveHealth #Research #Innovation #IVF

The first batch of students from The University of Adelaide have successfully completed the first hands-on embryology training course, developed in collaboration with Genea. This program provided 100 hours of practical training in a clinical-grade embryology laboratory, equipping students with essential skills for careers in reproductive medicine. Genea Director of Research and Science Education, Dr Nicole McPherson, a leader in this initiative, and Diana Bui, Genea Director of Clinical Embryology, emphasised the importance of this course in preparing students for the growing demand for skilled embryologists.   Our very own Genea Fertility Specialists Dr Anthony Marren, Dr Ying Li, and Dr Danielle Robson have just released the first Australasian Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Clinical Management Guideline 2024. Developed in collaboration with Adriana Suker and the Australasian CREI Consensus Expert Panel on Trial Evidence (ACCEPT) group, this comprehensive guideline offers insights and recommendations for the investigation and management of recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL).    Part I outlines chromosomal, anatomical, and endocrine factors, along with relevant recommendations for clinical management, levels of evidence, and consensus grades. Part II provides evidence-based guidance on managing RPL, covering thrombophilia, autoimmune factors, infective and inflammatory causes, endometrial factors, environmental and lifestyle influences, male factors, and unexplained causes.
