About us
Established in 1947 by the late George H Lilley, we are now a third-generation family business. We still make Australian-made regalia here in Melbourne. So, what is Regalia? Typically, you wear it, although it may also be presented to the recipient as a type of award or token. It’s often ceremonial. It signifies achievement, position or rank. It’s symbolic. It’s historical. It’s traditional. We are makers, tailors, machinists, designers, and craftspeople. We make and work with garments, special textiles and metal insignia. Few of us are aware that regalia is in fact around us much of the time. Take, for example, the uniform accoutrements that our police and emergency services personnel wear, the medals and awards presented to our sporting & community heroes, the ceremonial robe & chain worn by a mayor at a citizenship ceremony, the gown worn by many teachers at school assemblies, badges on school uniforms, the mortar board & robe worn by happy graduates… Graduation gowns, PhD gowns, Chancellor Regalia, Festal gowns Masonic & Fraternal Regalia Academic Gown Hire Services for events Uniform Accoutrements for Police, Ambulance, Emergency Services Mayoral Regalia including mayoral chains, pendants and robes Custom Medals, Badges and Awards Design & Manufacture Our combined training & experience means we can contribute to your projects from initial concept & sketch design through documentation, sampling & final manufacture of garment or product. Making here in Melbourne The combination of our ability to design and manufacture locally, as well as source materials from overseas, means we can produce fine, well-crafted and affordable regalia. By maintaining manufacturing at our own premises, we have a unique advantage of ensuring quality, delivery and service. We take great pleasure in our work and enjoy the artistry of what we do.
