Where Can I Eat this Christmas? At the Give Where You Live Foundation we exist to create a fairer, more equitable community and one of the areas we focus on is food security – ensuring all people at all times have access to sufficient and healthy food. The Give Where You Live Foundation’s Feed Geelong initiative has compiled a list of places throughout Geelong that provide food assistance. A full list of the places that provide food relief and opening hours is available for printing and download as a brochure and pdf. Our Program Coordinator, Liz is preparing Community Choice food and pharmacy vouchers for 25 agencies across our community to collect. Last financial year our Community Choice food and pharmacy vouchers supported over 13,446 people in our region. We’re so proud of this initiative that involves many in the community, as well as ongoing support from OK200 Software & Apps and the Percy Baxter Trust. These 25 agencies distribute the vouchers to people seeking food relief, pharmacy assistance and material aid in our community. We involve Geelong Foodshare, local cafes, pharmacies and material aid providers for people to redeem their vouchers - together delivering a coordinated and place based approach to supporting our community. #givewherelivefoundation #communitychoice #

Staff, community partners and guests of the Foundation were honoured to attend dinner with Christine Couzens at Parliament of Victoria recently. After learning of this dinner at our Pitch Up Geelong event, several of our supporters made a donation to support the pitching organisations and joined in on this celebration of creating a fairer community. Lovely to have Liz Perrin join the Give Where You Live Foundation as our newest staff member. Liz joins us as Program Coordinator, Food Security and Homelessness Assistance with 21 years experience in community and health sectors.    Liz has a wide knowledge of the community sector, outstanding skills in engagement will all levels, community, stakeholders and project partners, as well as community/clients at the micro and macro level. She is extremely passionate about supporting communities to grow and build stronger through connection.
