Access to debt capital is the biggest challenge facing mid-sized businesses, according to a survey carried out by private credit lender GCI (Global Credit Investments). The survey of intermediaries, including commercial brokers, reveals the opportunities for brokers as bank appetite for the SME sector wanes and demand for private credit grows. GCI co-founder and managing director Gavin Solsky said brokers positioned to do well in the mid-market usually acted more as consultants or trusted advisers to their business clients. As private credit continues its rapid growth in Australia, now accounting for about 11% of business lending, the options for flexible, fast capital have never been more varied. However, with this expansion comes the challenge of choosing the right partner, and for borrowers, the choice can be daunting. In our latest article, Choosing the Right Private Credit Partner: Key Considerations for Borrowers, we delve into the overlooked aspects of private credit, from the full cost of borrowing and loan flexibility to execution speed, collateral requirements, and the critical value of a long-term partnership. https://lnkd.in/g2uuUU7H #GCI #transformationalcredit #assetbackedfinance #NonBankLenders #privatedebt #privatecredit #realestate #strategiccapital #scaleupfinance #resourcesandrenewables
