As part of the major lighting upgrade at Redcliffe Paceway we have been engaged to design & supply a range of different light poles. These consisted of 2x 32m poles, 4x 25m poles & 21x 22m poles all with different headframes to suit the site-specific lighting design. The footings for the new light poles at Redcliffe Harness Racing Club had to be designed as a combination of pier footings with the requirement for sacrificial liners due to groundwater ingress in most locations, as well as some shallow pad footings in areas with softer ground conditions. Last Thursday our GM Poles and Urban Aluminium teams came together to celebrate R U OK Day. Firstly, we would like to give a special shout-out to our incredible guest speaker, Mabel who shared her personal journey and insights into the importance of emotional resiliance, and connecting with those around you. To say her story was powerful is an understatement. She genuinely inspired everyone present to reflect on the things in life that truely matter. Reminding us all that it is often the simplest things that get lost in the busyness of life that matter the most. It's very easy to lose sight of the present when you get stuck in the past or are too focused on the future. At GM & UA, we are very fortunate that our company offers an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) which provides staff professional counseling sessions with complete anonymity and free of charge. If you happen to have the power within your own company to offer your staff this service, we emplore you to do so. Taking time out from our hectic schedules to check in with one another and have meaningful conversations around mental health and wellbeing was a great reminder of the power of the simple question "Are you OK?" Throw back Thursday to some picturesque projects we completed in conjunction with Raylinc Lighting at Bulcock Beach Caloundra. GM Poles manufactured and supplied reducing pipe poles which were fixed onto side-mount brackets along the ocean front boardwalk. Another section required square poles with mounting holes and cable exits 0.5m from the pole top to achieve a simple but effective architectural feature. These poles also feature our baseplate covers to hide the foundation bolts.
