Delivering excellence in healthcare for the Gold Coast

About us

Gold Coast Health provides public sector health care in hospital and community settings across the expanding Gold Coast region. Located in the lower south-east corner of the state of Queensland, the Gold Coast has traditionally been one of Australia's leading leisure destinations. It is increasingly a place people are choosing to call home. Services include all major adult specialties as well as paediatrics. Chronic disease management is a key focus in our hospital and community care environments. Gold Coast Health is working closely with health partners such as general practitioners to develop seamless support networks for patients and their families. Gold Coast Health is now training more medical students than any other hospital in Australia. We continue to work with education providers such as Griffith University and Bond University on the Gold Coast, and University of Queensland in Brisbane to train a future health workforce. Training for all health professions including medical, nursing, allied and other support services are undertaken at Gold Coast. The Queensland Government has recently invested over $2 billion in health infrastructure across the Gold Coast to meet the needs of our increasing population. This includes the opening of the new Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) and the expansion of services at Robina Hospital. The Gold Coast Hospital Foundation, based at the Gold Coast hospital are dedicated to fundraising to support Gold Coast Health research and education activities.

  • The Australian's 2025 Research Magazine has recognized Professor Fabricio da Silva Costa as Australia's leading researcher in obstetrics and gynaecology. Serving as a Specialist Consultant in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Gold Coast Health and as a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Griffith University, Prof da Silva Costa exemplifies the integration of advanced research with dedicated patient care. Despite his extensive research contributions, Prof. da Silva Costa dedicates the majority of his time to clinical practice, underscoring his commitment to patient care. Beyond his clinical and research achievements, Prof. da Silva Costa has significantly influenced international health policy in perinatal care. As Vice Chair of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG) Scientific Committee and a former Board of Trustees member, he continues to shape the future of maternal-fetal medicine. • It's Boxing Day! 📦 Did you or your child receive some cool electronics for Christmas? 📲 Maybe you were extra nice this year, and Santa delivered a new car! 🚗 Whatever your gifts may be, it's important to keep an eye out for button batteries! They can be found lurking in some toys, car keys, watches and more. They pose a serious choking hazard because of their size, which makes them easy for children to put in their mouths and accidentally swallow, or to push them into their ears or nose. 😥 If you think your child might have swallowed or inserted a button battery, contact the Poisons Information Centre immediately on 📱 13 11 26 for fast expert advice, 24/7. https://lnkd.in/gG87P5sZ #AlwaysCare #ButtonBatteryAwareness #ButtonBatteries #StaySafe

  • Coomera Hospital design nears completion and lift cores rise! 🏥👷 📋 The design phase for the new Coomera Hospital is nearly finalised, with the final round of Project User Group (PUG) meetings happening now and scheduled to wrap up before Christmas. 👀 Construction is well underway and two of the concrete stair and lift cores are already visible from the M1, offering a sneak peek of what’s to come. 🏗️ Each core is made up of 38 individual cubes, each weighing more than 24 tonnes. 🛠️ With seven more cores still to be built, the main hospital will feature nine in total. 🚑 Preparations are also starting for the ground slab, which will form the base of the main hospital pad. The final Project User Group (PUG) consultations are making sure all feedback from schematic design sessions, detailed design, workshops and health service reviews has been included. Acting Senior Director Infrastructure Planning, Delivery and Commissioning Chris Moores said insights from the Project User Groups had been instrumental. “Shaping a new hospital that truly meets the needs of our community and health care professionals is very important,” Chris said. 🩺 “Thanks to the contributions and dedication of the Project User Group (PUG) members, this project is coming to life, progressing toward the delivery of a world-class facility for the Gold Coast community.” 🌟 Keen to learn more about the new Coomera Hospital?
