The Perth Mint is pleased to support this week’s Webex Players Series golf tournament at Royal Fremantle Golf Club by providing special gold-plated silver medallions for the winners. The event’s approach to diversity and inclusion aligns closely with our values. Our team of keen golfers, CEO Paul Graham, Chief Operating Officer Dion Paunich and General Manager Minted Products Neil Vance, were delighted to take part in the pro-am event on Wednesday and present a 1kg silver kookaburra coin each to local star professionals and siblings Minjee Lee and Min Woo Lee, who hosted the Challenger PGA Tour tournament.

✨ Meet Graham Kehoe – The Perth Mint’s second-longest serving employee! ✨ Graham has been at The Perth Mint for 36 years and has a strong link to a largely forgotten part of the Mint’s history – joining our Kalgoorlie gold refinery in 1988 soon after it opened and remaining there until it closed seven years later. 💬 Graham moved into our coining division in East Perth in 2004 and is now leading hand in the gold fabrication team. “I was keen to learn new skills in the coining area, and the move enabled me to progress to more senior roles,” he says. It was fantastic to host the Minister for Mines and Petroleum David Michael and our board members on a tour of the Coining Division last week. As part of the tour, the Minister and board members were shown the different stages of producing coins and bullion and saw our new coining press in action. The Perth Mint is Australia’s oldest operating mint, with our Coining Division located in the original building in East Perth. #ThePerthMint

✨🏳️🌈 This year, our employees proudly marched in solidarity with Pride in Diversity at the PrideFEST Parade! 💬James Sawyer - Executive sponsor for the Perth Mint with Pride ERG says, "supporting LGBTQ+ pride in the workplace is essential to creating a culture where everyone feels valued and respected. By encouraging an inclusive environment, we enable employees to bring their whole selves to work, which strengthens both collaboration and innovation. It also sends a clear message that our organisation stands by all employees, empowering them to contribute their best work and feel a true sense of belonging.” Thank you to everyone who marched alongside us to show their support, and our team members who work together to create an inclusive workplace. 😱 You wouldn’t believe what we found hiding underneath our coining press room! During some recent engineering work in the coining division, workers cut through a concrete floor and revealed a brick-lined pit containing two large gears that were fabricated in 1896! They were soon identified as the main driving gears for the original rolling mills, as seen in this 1919 image from the State Library of Western Australia archives. ✨ Meet Hui-Lee Foo who celebrated 30 years working at The Perth Mint this year ✨ Her role in the Mint’s finance team was Hui-Lee’s first job in Perth after moving from Malaysia and she fondly remembers celebrating our centenary in 1999 with her two sons. 💬 “Both my sons are now engineers, and they had the benefit of six months working in the Mint’s coining division to fulfill their industry training requirement for their university study. As a family we were grateful for that. It was a wonderful opportunity for them,” Hui-Lee says. Read Hui-Lee’s full story | https://ow.ly/VGRZ50U7zUC #ThePerthMint #ThePerthMint125
