Eoin recently earned a gold medal in the WorldSkills Australia – Construction Steel Work Regional Competition, where he demonstrated his exceptional skills in structural steel construction. This prestigious competition involved a six-hour fabrication challenge, where participants were tasked with assembling, cutting, and welding steel structures to precise industry standards. Eoin’s victory in this competition highlights his expertise in fabricating and maintaining steel structures and welding techniques. What does a typical day in your role look like? Eoin’s typical day starts at 7am with a variety of fabrication tasks, from skip plate redesign to heavy-duty steel work. His work requires precision, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of technical specifications, ensuring all projects meet the highest standards. What do you enjoy most about Goldstar Transport? Eoin thrives on the daily challenges his role brings, particularly in problem-solving and refining processes. He is committed to continuously improving his work, whether through enhancing efficiency or standardising practices across the team. What are your hobbies or interests outside of work? Outside of his professional achievements, Eoin is focused on renovating his recently purchased home!! Celebrating National Recycling Week! ♻️ We are pleased to announce the receipt of our Sustainability Certificate, recognising our successful efforts in pallet recycling through CHEP. This initiative has yielded significant environmental benefits: we have saved 937 tonnes of CO₂ emissions—equivalent to planting 1,405 trees—and diverted 665 tonnes of solid waste from landfills, which is comparable to filling 6,096 wheelie bins (240L). This achievement demonstrates our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and promoting a circular economy, where resources are reused, waste is minimised, and materials are conserved. Yesterday, we officially launched the Capricorn Confidence Index in Australia! Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone. 🎉   We believe, the Capricorn Confidence Index stands as Australia’s first and most accurate measure of business owner confidence in the future of the automotive aftermarket industry. This year’s data reveals exciting progress: Member confidence has steadily risen, from 68.3 points in 2021 to 71.3 points in 2024. 📈   The event kicked off with insights from Capricorn’s Group CEO, David Fraser and incoming Group CEO, Bradley Gannon, who discussed the vital role our Members play in shaping the automotive sector’s future.    The Hon. Jackie Jarvis MLC, Minister for Small Business in WA, highlighted the challenges small business owners face, with a focus on the critical skills shortage in the automotive industry. She emphasised TAFE’s role in addressing this issue, pointing out that enhanced training and apprenticeship opportunities are essential for building a skilled workforce equipped to meet industry demands.
